Collateral Analyst:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Collateral Analyst for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Collateral Analyst - Job Description:

The role involves issuing and responding to OTC collateral margin calls, ensuring daily cash deadlines are met for collateral bookings, and reconciling and following up on failed moves.

Collateral Analyst - Responsibilities:

Validate and ensure all margin calls are issued on a timely basis and perform end-to-end margin processes
Ensure agreement and transfer of eligible credit support within the specified timeframe according to the CSA terms
Manage collateral inventory (non-cash) positions to fulfill daily margin requirements
Instruct and approve collateral movements via SWIFT/email and/or FAX
Perform cash forecasting as required intra-day
Perform portfolio and collateral reconciliations with counterparties
Escalate all issues as per agreed terms and standing orders
Respond to inquiries on a timely basis
Involved in business user testing for enhancements and system integration
Operational onboarding of new and/or existing counterparties for applications and services related to the collateral management process
Update procedure documents as required
Ensure client data is accurately maintained in the collateral management system and other documents as required
Assist in preparation of margin requirement/funding report and other ad-hoc reports as required
Respond to audit requests
Provide extended coverage during the absence of team members (e.g., vacation)

Collateral Analyst - Mandatory Skills:

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Finance
1 to 4 years of experience in the financial industry, preferably Capital Markets
Understanding of RBFG risk policies and standing order
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (adept in Excel)
Knowledge of Capital Market products, trade systems, and business lines
Working knowledge of derivative products and related documentation

Collateral Analyst – Nice-to-Have Skills:

Responsibilities

Issue, validate, and respond to OTC margin calls; manage eligible collateral and cash movements; and complete reconciliations, forecasting, and follow-up on failed transfers. Maintain accurate collateral records and procedures, support counterparties and audits, assist with testing and reporting, and provide team coverage as needed.

Requirements

A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance and 1–4 years of financial industry experience, preferably in Capital Markets, are required. Candidates should understand risk policies and standing orders, be proficient with Microsoft Office - especially Excel - and have knowledge of Capital Markets products, trade systems, derivative products, and related documentation; the CSC is an asset.
