Title: Application Solution Architect Advisor (Guidewire)
Duration: 6-12 months
Location: Toronto or Montreal (hybride mode)
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile and experienced Application Solution Architect Advisor to contribute to major business and technology transformation initiatives.
As a Solution Architect, you will play a key role in designing, evolving, and governing application solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and project leaders to ensure solutions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, and target-state technology strategies. You will also provide technical leadership around the Guidewire platform and modern application architecture practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and document the functional capabilities required to address business needs.
- Define solution architecture and determine the applications, services, and technologies involved.
- Assess impacts related to system integration, dependencies, performance, security, and coexistence with existing solutions.
- Develop technology architecture directions to support selected business solutions.
- Produce solution architecture deliverables, including functional and non-functional requirements coverage.
- Model and communicate architectural solutions using diagrams and architecture frameworks, ideally using ArchiMate.
- Support delivery teams during detailed design, implementation, and integration activities.
- Develop transition, migration, coexistence, conversion, and decommissioning strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, project managers, Scrum Masters, delivery leads, and technical teams.
- Promote and apply modern architecture principles, including microservices, event-driven architecture, API-first design, and continuous integration.
- Evaluate and influence design decisions by identifying patterns, anti-patterns, technical risks, and architectural trade-offs.
- Ensure solution quality through attention to testability, observability, performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Define and enforce development best practices for Guidewire Cloud solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance to development teams.
- Serve as the primary technical reference for Guidewire-related architecture and implementation matters.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Solution Architecture or a related architectural leadership role.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with the Guidewire platform (mandatory).
- Proven experience delivering solution architecture in large-scale business and technology transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of modern enterprise application architecture principles.
- Strong proficiency with architecture frameworks and modeling methodologies, including ArchiMate.
- Experience with application integration using:
- REST APIs
- Web Services
- Event-driven architectures
- Strong understanding of cloud and hybrid deployment models, including:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Software as a Service (SaaS)
- Containers as a Service (CaaS)
- Experience designing and implementing microservices-based solutions.
- Expert knowledge of the Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including:
- PolicyCenter
- ClaimCenter
- BillingCenter
- Experience working with Guidewire APIs and integration frameworks.
- Knowledge of Guidewire Advanced Product Designer (APD) is considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency in:
- Gosu programming language
- Guidewire PCF (Page Configuration Framework)
- Guidewire configuration and customization practices
