Prodigy is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Variable Construction team. In this role, you’ll lead complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, taking ownership of project delivery, financial performance, schedules, client relationships, and overall project success.
You’ll work closely with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams to keep projects moving forward while managing changing priorities, resolving challenges, and maintaining Prodigy’s standards for quality, safety, and execution. As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Lead multiple construction projects through preconstruction, construction, and closeout, with accountability for overall project performance.
- Develop and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, procurement strategies, logistics plans, and project controls.
- Lead project start up and handover activities, working closely with Estimating, Site Operations, Finance, and other internal teams.
- Manage project financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, costs, profitability, billing, and change management.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project or Primavera P6, identify potential delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead subcontractor procurement, bid reviews, scope development, contract awards, and ongoing subcontractor performance.
- Manage client, consultant, subcontractor, and supplier relationships while serving as a senior point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead internal and external project meetings, proactively managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, critical issues, risks, and project documentation.
- Partner closely with Project Superintendents to support site operations, construction planning, sequencing, quality, and overall project execution.
- Ensure projects meet Prodigy’s Health & Safety, environmental, quality, contractual, and reporting requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring responsibilities, priorities, and project expectations are clearly understood.
- Identify and support business development opportunities and contribute to bid proposals and client presentations as required.
- Lead project closeout, deficiency management, final completion, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement across future projects.
About You:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience within ICI construction, with experience managing projects valued up to $50 million.
- Post secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Experience delivering projects using Construction Management and Stipulated Sum contract models. Experience with Design Build, Integrated Project Delivery, or other project delivery models is an asset.
- Experience managing multiple mid sized projects simultaneously or independently leading a larger, complex project.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, project controls, scheduling, procurement, cost management, and change management.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, risks, and overall financial performance while maintaining quality and client expectations.
- Strong client, consultant, subcontractor, and stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Experience with MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, construction accounting and cost tracking systems such as Jonas, or similar industry software.
- Strong leadership skills with experience guiding, mentoring, and developing project team members.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly organized and self directed, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and make sound decisions in a fast paced construction environment.
- Experience with residential, financial, retail, hospitality, or occupied phased construction projects is considered an asset.
