About Productive Shop

Productive Shop is a Toronto-based B2B marketing agency that works only with SaaS and technology companies. Alongside our agency services, we've built our own AI platform for marketing teams.

The role

Join our small engineering team and build the data infrastructure, automations and AI features behind our platform and client work. You'll own systems end to end, with direct access to leadership.

What you'll do

  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and data pipelines
  • Build n8n and Node.js automation workflows with solid error handling
  • Add LLM features (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) to backend pipelines
  • Integrate APIs such as Slack, Google Drive and Google Analytics
  • Deploy and run services on DigitalOcean and Google Cloud

What you bring

  • 5+ years building backend services in Node.js
  • 3+ years with PostgreSQL or MySQL: schema design, indexing, query tuning
  • 1+ years with n8n, Make or Zapier, including custom code
  • Production experience integrating LLM APIs
  • Docker, Git, CI/CD, and REST/GraphQL APIs with OAuth2
  • Advanced use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex
  • Fluent written and spoken English

Nice to have: Python; LangChain, RAG or vector databases; React or Next.js; SEO data.

Where you'll work

This is a full-time, hybrid role: 3 days a week at our office at 145 Front St E, Toronto, and 2 days from home. You'll receive paid vacation and a group benefits package.

How we hire

HR interview → 3-day take-home technical task → technical interview with our engineering lead → final interview.
