THE OPPORTUNITY

The Project Coordinator will join the Project Management team within Kemway, providing technical and operational support to the Project Managers on both the construction and property management sides of the business. This is a hands-on, entry-level role suited to someone at the start of their career who wants exposure to the full scope of project delivery, without yet holding final accountability for a project's outcome.

The Project Coordinator will support many of the same functions as a Project Manager, including reviewing blueprints, issuing and tracking RFIs with sub-trades, assisting with scheduling, and working with budgets and spreadsheets, but within a supporting rather than owning capacity. This is not an administrative role; it is a technical position for someone who wants to build real construction and property management experience and grow into a Project Management career over time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Given the pivotal role this individual will be expected to play in achieving the strategic objectives of the company and in supporting the success of the organization, it is essential that the successful candidate possess the following core competencies, experience, and attributes:

Blueprint and Design Support

Review blueprints and drawings to build a strong understanding of project scope and design intent.
Support the Project Manager in identifying potential design or scheduling conflicts before they become issues.
Flag questions or inconsistencies that may require clarification through the RFI process.

RFI and Sub-Trade Coordination

Prepare and issue RFI requests to sub-trades, tracking responses to keep information flowing on time.
Assist in scheduling sub-trades in coordination with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent.
Support communication with sub-trades on scheduling updates, documentation, and day-to-day coordination needs.

Budget and Financial Support

Assist with tracking project budgets and costs, working closely with spreadsheets and financial data.
Support the Project Manager in monitoring costs against estimates, flagging discrepancies as they arise.
Help maintain accurate and up-to-date project financial documentation.

Project Support and Operations

Provide day-to-day technical and operational support to the Project Manager across active projects.
Assist with maintaining organized project documentation, correspondence, and records.
Support field operations by helping track schedules, work progress, and outstanding items.
Participate in site visits and project meetings as needed to stay closely connected to project progress.

Property Management Support

Support the property management side of the business as needed, assisting with coordination between tenants, field operations, and the Property Manager.
Help track and coordinate service and work orders related to property management, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Assist with basic financial coordination for property management, such as supporting invoicing or expense tracking in collaboration with the finance team.
Contribute to a positive and professional experience for tenants and clients, representing Kemway's values in all interactions.

FIRST YEAR – MEASURES OF SUCCESS

Builds strong, trusted relationships with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, sub-trades, and property management stakeholders and tenants
Is seen as a go-to person for addressing and removing obstacles, and where an obstacle cannot be resolved directly, ensures the right information reaches the stakeholders who can

THE INDIVIDUAL

Education

Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Business, or a related field is preferred; a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation is considered an asset.

Experience

Experience in a technical operations support role within a sub-trade company (such as electrical, drywall, or other sub-trade), or in a manufacturing environment in an operational technical role such as materials management or production scheduling, where attention to detail matters.
Alternatively, a new graduate with exposure to the construction industry through summer work, co-op placements, or early career experience.
Proficiency in MS Office, including strong Excel skills, with comfort working with numbers and financial data.

This position will be in office with standard working hours between Monday – Friday.
