This is an opportunity for a relationship-oriented sales professional who understands the complexities of industrial manufacturing and knows how to turn customer relationships into long-term business opportunities. You will play an important role in expanding existing accounts, developing new markets, and identifying opportunities that align customer needs with the organization’s technical and operational capabilities.

Success in this position goes beyond closing individual deals. It requires commercial insight, a consultative approach, and the ability to work across customer-facing and internal teams to develop solutions that create lasting value.

If you enjoy building relationships, navigating complex sales cycles, and contributing directly to business growth, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

  • Grow the business: Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing industrial customers.
  • Build strategic partnerships: Establish trusted relationships with customer decision-makers and key stakeholders, understanding their priorities and long-term objectives.
  • Lead the sales process: Manage opportunities from initial engagement and discovery through solution development, proposal presentation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Understand customer requirements: Work closely with customers to identify technical, operational, and commercial needs and translate them into viable solutions.
  • Develop account strategies: Create and execute plans to strengthen customer relationships, increase account penetration, and uncover new revenue opportunities.
  • Drive commercial negotiations: Develop pricing strategies, prepare proposals, and work toward agreements that support customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Collaborate across the organization: Partner with engineering, production, operations, and customer-facing teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, competitive, and deliverable.
  • Monitor the pipeline: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity tracking, and account plans to support effective business planning.
  • Represent the business: Build credibility in the marketplace and maintain a professional presence with customers and industry contacts.
  • Travel as required: Visit customer sites, primarily in the United States, with travel expected to be approximately 25%.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, B2B sales, or strategic account management within industrial manufacturing or a related sector.
  • Experience in steel, heavy industrial, automotive, engineered products, or similar manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • A track record of winning new business while developing and retaining existing customer accounts.
  • Experience managing consultative sales processes involving multiple stakeholders, technical considerations, and longer sales cycles.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to assess customer needs and develop solutions that support profitable growth.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • The confidence to engage with senior customer stakeholders and work effectively with engineering, production, and operations teams.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Compensation & Benefits

The organization offers a competitive compensation package and a flexible work environment, including:

  • Base salary of $110,000–$140,000, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Target annual discretionary bonus.
  • Generous paid time off.

  • Eligibility for the employer pension program.
  • Hybrid work flexibility.
  • Approximately 25% business travel, primarily within the United States.
