Original job description

Are you ready for a career where every day is a little different, a lot exciting, and genuinely rewarding? Curious about the world of Strata Property Management and eager to learn the ropes from seasoned pros? In this temporary training role, you’ll step into the world of Strata Property Management and gradually grow into a fully licensed manager, while wearing many hats along the way: think relationship builder, project coordinator, financial navigator, legal compliance learner, and maintenance communicator extraordinaire.

If that sounds like your kind of adventure, buckle up, we’ve been waiting for you.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Strata Property Manager Apprentice to join our fun, people-focused team. No prior strata experience? Not to worry. This role is designed exactly for that. We’ll train, mentor, and support you as you work toward your BC Strata Property Management License. Once you’re licensed and ready to spread your wings, you’ll transition out of the training phase and step into managing your own portfolio independently. Our goal is for you to be licensed within six months.

This Is You To a ‘T’

You’re confident, kind, patient, and an exceptional listener.
You can build consensus across diverse groups and manage expectations like a pro.
You diffuse conflict and handle sticky situations with grace.
You see opportunities instead of challenges and support positive change enthusiastically.
“That’s not my job” isn’t in your vocabulary - you do what it takes.
You bring joy, a sense of humor, and fun to every interaction.
You create systems to stay organized, on top of emails, tasks, and projects.
You love learning, setting goals, and are open to guidance and feedback.
You enjoy helping others, fixing problems, and making the team shine.

Your Day-to-Day Adventure

While taking your licensing course, you’ll:

Work directly alongside licensed Property Managers to learn all aspects of property management.
Assist with obtaining quotes, scheduling maintenance, and coordinating jobs with tradespeople.
Attend strata council meetings, visit buildings, and get hands-on experience with building systems.
Help organize property management processes to ensure top-notch care for our portfolio.
Once licensed, participate in a shared on-call rotation, scheduled in one-week increments, to calmly manage emergencies and identify effective solutions as situations arise.
This position is based out of our beautiful head office, located in Westshore.
Take on other duties as assigned, because “everything’s fair game” is part of the fun.

Once licensed, you’ll step into a full-fledged Strata Property Manager role, overseeing meetings, budgets, maintenance, and relationships. Your portfolio could include properties from Campbell River to Victoria, requiring minimal travel - typically for annual general meetings, but could also be for additional meetings depending on the property.

About Us

We Are:

Friendly, hardworking, slightly weird, and immensely people-focused.
A team that thrives on Rebellious Optimism, Wholehearted Togetherness, Insidious Joy, Radical Transparency, and Relentless Incrementalism.
Serving Vancouver Island since 1985, with 60+ team members across three locations.
Devoted to creating a positive, inclusive, and quirky workplace where learning and growth are encouraged.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or a related field; preference will be given to candidates with 3+ years of direct experience in property management, project management or a similar construction industry role.
Excellent typing and computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel).
Eligible to obtain a BC Strata Property Management license.
This position requires a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle, as travel to assigned sites using your own vehicle is an essential requirement of the role.
Successful completion of a criminal record check.

Perks, Benefits & Details

Full-time position, with promotion to permanent Strata Property Manager upon licensing and internal training completion.
Salary range: $55,000 - $100,000, with eligibility for an incentive pay plan.
Flexible schedule and potential work-from-home opportunities after training.
Licensing and ongoing education costs covered by us.
Paid vacation, wellness committees, RRSP matching, health benefits, life insurance, paid volunteer days, birthday and job anniversary days off, and seasonal team celebrations.
Opportunities for growth, mentorship, and career development in a fun, slightly weird, and highly supportive culture.

If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, wear all the hats, and bring joy and curiosity to every day, we want to hear from you. Submit your resume and cover letter explaining why this role feels like it was made for you.

Don’t worry if you don’t check every single box. We all learned on the fly, and we’ll help you do the same.

Please note that only candidates selected for the interview process will be contacted.
