The Company

PROLINK - Canada’s Insurance Connection is an independent and employee owned insurance and risk management firm. We have been in business since 1982, operating on the principles of integrity, honesty and caring. We provide tailor-made insurance and risk management solutions to primarily knowledge-based industries in Canada. Through our high level of expertise in select industry segments, we help our client become resilient organizations.

Our goal is to help our clients feel confident in their decisions, secure that we will be there for any urgent need, and connected to PROLINK as their trusted insurance and risk management resource. By nurturing one-on-one relationships with our clients, we have built a reputation as valued advisors and advocates nationwide.

Finally, PROLINK is an employee focused organization. We firmly believe that our employees are the core of our business, and empowering them produces the best results for our clients. We do this through providing a flexible work environment, personal growth plans, inclusivity, a strong benefits package and the opportunity to be an owner in the firm.

The Role

As a Senior Account Manager in PROLINK’s Staffing Practice, you will serve a set of larger, complex commercial corporate clients and associations such that they value their relationships and experiences with you and their PROLINK team. In this role, you will:

  • Understand each client’s risk management needs, identify gaps in coverage and loss exposures, and recommend insurance coverage;
  • Ensure each client is confident in their choice of broker, insurer(s) and solutions;
  • Foster in your clients a sense of belonging to the PROLINK organization such that they view you as “their personal connection in the insurance business” who can help them, their businesses, and even their families and networks;
  • Be the commercial insurance expert for each client, fully updated on industry trends and solutions, to keep clients fully informed with relevant information and perspectives;
  • Demonstrate that whenever there is an urgent need, the client can be secure in knowing that you and the PROLINK team have the client’s back and will respond quickly, professionally and with the appropriate actions and/or answers.

The Requirements

To be seriously considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Must be RIBO Licensed.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years as an Account Manager in an insurance brokerage or insurance company is strongly preferred.
  • Skills: A team player with a client-centric approach, ready to deliver great service. Comfort with managing multiple demands, with proven organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Softer Skills: A person who is positive, energized, articulate, engaging, empathetic and approachable.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Enable a successful renewal for each client by engaging all relevant internal/external stakeholders (the Insurance Company, the Account Executive, the Assistant Account Manager, the Marketing team);
  • Drive other lines of business within the company by referring clients to the Personal Insurance, and Life and Benefits teams, when appropriate;
  • Manage the preparation and timely issuance of policies, cover notes, binders, invoices and client correspondence, where applicable;
  • Assist the company’s financial growth by invoicing, collecting payments, and reconciling accounts at times;
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and advocate on their behalf during claims situations when required;
  • Collaborate with Producers and Associates in the effective management and growth of your account base;
  • Upload client interactions through the Broker Management System or other online tools which will enable a consistent client experience;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance companies and knowledge of their products, wordings and underwriting rules so as to be effective at analyzing coverage and negotiating

The Benefits

  • Enjoy a competitive compensation package;
  • Access comprehensive medical and dental benefits that will come in force on your first day as an employee;
  • Experience the heart of Toronto’s financial district when in the office. PROLINK is steps away from Union Station and is connected to St. Andrew subway station;
  • Work for a company that has the best of both worlds: the professionalism and success of a corporate environment, with the family-oriented and collaborative feel of a small business;
  • Grow your career in an organization that loves to recognize and reward its top talent;
  • Relish in the comfort of working from home and from our office (as circumstances permit and require).

At PROLINK, diversity begins and ends with our employees. It is important to us that we create a diverse, equal, inclusive, and accessible work environment where our employees feel valued, respected, and supported. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a workforce that reflects the community in which we live and work.
