Original job description

Company Description

Propra is reimagining property management technology. We're building a modern, AI-powered platform that helps property management companies simplify their operations, automate accounting and back-office work, and deliver better experiences for residents and property owners.

We're an early-stage Canadian technology company with an ambitious vision and a small, highly collaborative team. We value people who take ownership, solve problems creatively, and aren't afraid to step outside traditional job boundaries to move things forward. We're now looking for someone to build and lead our marketing function from the ground up.

Job Description

About the Role

As Propra's Marketing Lead, you'll own our marketing strategy and execution end-to-end. You'll work directly with our founders and sales team to build awareness, generate qualified leads, and help turn Propra into a recognized name in property management technology. This is a rare opportunity to build a marketing function your way. You'll have the autonomy to identify opportunities, experiment with approaches, choose your tools, and establish the systems that drive our growth. We're a startup, so resources are limited. We need someone who's resourceful, technically capable, and comfortable doing the work themselves. You should be excited about using AI, automation, and modern marketing tools to accomplish what traditionally required a much larger team. You'll need to think strategically, but you'll also be writing copy, building campaigns, analyzing results, and making things happen every day.

This is a builder's role, not a traditional marketing management position.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Growth

Develop and execute Propra's B2B SaaS marketing strategy, with a clear focus on generating qualified sales opportunities and growing revenue.
Define and refine our ideal customer profile, positioning, messaging, and go-to-market approach.
Identify the highest-impact marketing channels and prioritize activities based on measurable results.
Own the marketing roadmap, budget, and performance reporting.

Demand Generation & Pipeline Development

Design and execute campaigns that generate qualified leads and opportunities for our sales team.
Build targeted, account-based marketing programs to reach property management companies and their decision-makers.
Experiment with channels including email, LinkedIn, paid advertising, organic search, partnerships, and industry events.
Work closely with sales to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and pipeline velocity.

Content, Brand & Communications

Own Propra's marketing website, messaging, and digital presence.
Develop compelling content including case studies, customer stories, articles, landing pages, email campaigns, and sales materials.
Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, relevant value propositions for property management professionals.
Establish a consistent, credible brand voice that resonates with our target market.

AI, Automation & Marketing Operations

Use AI and automation as fundamental parts of how you work, not just occasional productivity tools.
Build repeatable, efficient workflows for content production, campaign execution, lead research, personalization, and reporting.
Select, implement, and integrate marketing tools with our CRM and sales processes.
Use data and experimentation to continuously improve marketing performance.
Find creative ways to achieve meaningful results without requiring a large team or agency budget.

Measurement & Optimization

Establish meaningful KPIs for marketing performance, particularly qualified leads, sales pipeline, conversion rates, and customer acquisition.
Monitor campaign performance and allocate resources toward what works. - Build clear reporting that connects marketing activities to business outcomes.
Continuously test, learn, and improve our approach.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably within SaaS or another technology-driven business.
Demonstrated success building and executing marketing programs that generate qualified sales pipeline.
Experience working in an early-stage startup, small marketing team, or similarly resource-constrained environment.
Proven ability to take a marketing initiative from idea through execution and measurement.
Bonus: Experience in property technology, real estate, accounting software, fintech, or other specialized B2B markets.

Skills & Tools

Strong understanding of B2B demand generation, digital marketing, content strategy, and marketing funnels.
Hands-on experience with CRM platforms, marketing automation, analytics, and campaign management tools.
Comfortable using modern AI tools to accelerate research, content creation, creative production, data analysis, and workflow automation.
Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to make complex products easy to understand.
Strong analytical skills and a practical understanding of marketing attribution, funnel metrics, and return on investment.
Enough technical fluency to independently work with websites, integrations, automation platforms, and marketing technology.

Personal Attributes

Builder mentality: You'd rather create something than manage a process someone else created.
Resourceful: You know how to get results without a large budget or team.
AI-native: You're genuinely curious about how emerging tools can change the way marketing gets done, and you're already putting them to work.
Commercially minded: You understand that marketing exists to help grow the business, not just generate activity.
Independent: You can determine what needs doing, prioritize effectively, and execute without constant direction.
Creative and analytical: You combine strong ideas with disciplined measurement and experimentation.
Adaptable: You enjoy the ambiguity, changing priorities, and opportunities that come with an early-stage startup.

What Success Looks Like In your first year, you'll have:

Built a clear, focused marketing strategy aligned with Propra's growth objectives.
Established repeatable programs that consistently create qualified sales opportunities.
Developed compelling positioning, messaging, and content that support our sales process.
Implemented a lean, AI-enabled marketing operation capable of scaling without proportional increases in headcount.
Established reliable reporting that helps us understand what's working, what's not, and where to invest next. Most importantly, you'll have helped create a measurable, repeatable contribution to Propra's revenue growth.

Additional Information Why Join Propra?

Build something from the ground up. You'll have genuine ownership of the marketing function and the freedom to shape how it operates.
Work directly with the founders. Your ideas, decisions, and contributions will have a direct impact on company strategy and growth.
Work at the forefront of AI. We're building technology that uses AI to transform an established industry, and we want to apply the same innovative thinking to how we grow.
Make a meaningful impact. You'll see the direct results of your work, rather than being one small part of a large marketing organization. This is a full-time position based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with a hybrid remote working arrangement.

Additional Information

Propra is an equal opportunity employer. We appreciate your interest in working with us; however, only those applicants selected for interviews will be contacted. Successful candidates for this position may be required to undergo a security screening, including a criminal records check.
