Role Description The Camera Install Technician is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home as appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, configuring, and testing camera systems, cabling, and related vision enhancement equipment on vehicles and industrial machinery. The technician will perform diagnostic checks, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure systems meet safety and performance standards. The role involves collaborating with team members, coordinating with clients, and providing clear communication on installation status, system operation, and maintenance requirements. The Camera Install Technician will also document work performed, follow company and customer safety protocols, and support a high level of customer satisfaction through professional service and timely issue resolution.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong technical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain camera systems and related hardware.
- Candidates should possess cabling and installation skills, including experience with low-voltage wiring, cable management, and safe use of hand and power tools.
- Candidates should possess communication and customer service skills to explain technical concepts clearly, work effectively with clients and colleagues, and support high customer satisfaction.
- Relevant experience in field service, automotive or equipment upfitting, electronics, or security/AV installations is beneficial.
- A valid driver’s license, ability to travel to customer sites within the Greater Toronto Area, and readiness to work in industrial, outdoor, and vehicle-based environments are preferred.
- Attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are important.
- Secondary school diploma required; additional technical certifications in electronics, networking, or related disciplines are an asset.
