Role Description The Buyer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pointe-Claire, QC. This position is responsible for managing the procurement of pumps, blowers, vacuum pumps, and related rotary equipment, ensuring materials and components are ordered accurately and delivered on schedule. Day-to-day tasks include issuing purchase orders, negotiating prices and terms with suppliers, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with warehouse and repair teams to meet operational needs. The Buyer will evaluate supplier performance, maintain up-to-date records in procurement systems, and support cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. Collaboration with sales, service, and logistics staff is essential to align purchasing activities with customer requirements and project timelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in industrial equipment or a related technical field.
- Strong skills in vendor selection, price negotiation, and contract terms management.
- Ability to manage inventory levels, track orders, and use ERP or procurement software effectively.
- Solid analytical, planning, and organizational skills to prioritize multiple buying activities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, pricing, and order specifications.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort working with data and reports.
- Relevant post-secondary education in business, supply chain, operations, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of industrial or mechanical products and willingness to learn technical specifications.
- Ability to work on-site in Pointe-Claire, QC, and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
