Role Description "The Internship, Early‑Career Psychologist Position – Supervision Provided" is a full time position operating on site in North York, Ontario. The successful clinician will conduct clinical intake interviews, assist in diagnostic formulations, and provide individual therapy under the direct supervision of licensed psychologists. Daily responsibilities include clinical interviews, administering and scoring standardized psychological assessments, formulating targeted treatment plans, maintaining clinical documentation, and actively engaging in comprehensive case consultations. The clinician will collaborate closely with rehabilitation professionals and medical experts to support rigorous medicolegal assessments and develop empirically supported interventions. Comprehensive supervision and structured training are provided to fulfill all registration requirements mandated by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an accredited graduate program in clinical psychology at the master or doctoral level.
- Explicit intent and clear eligibility to pursue registration for supervised practice with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
- Robust foundational knowledge of psychology demonstrating comprehensive expertise in empirically supported therapies and established clinical best practices.
- Sophisticated understanding of the intersection between clinical psychology, disability management, injury recovery, and mental health rehabilitation.
- Proficiency in psychological intervention evidencing strong capabilities in cultivating therapeutic rapport and executing effective crisis management strategies.
- Competence in psychological assessment encompassing the precise administration, scoring, and clinical interpretation of standardized psychometric testing instruments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills ensuring clinical records, assessment reports, and treatment plans remain objective, highly precise, and legally defensible.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable Ontario statutory frameworks governing practice including the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule and the Health Care Consent Act.
- Demonstrated ability to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team while upholding the strict ethical standards mandated by the regulatory college.
- Commitment to continuous professional development ensuring all therapeutic and assessment approaches remain culturally sensitive and thoroughly inclusive.
- Demonstrated clinical interest in trauma treatment, complex rehabilitation, medicolegal evaluations, and extended psychological recovery.
