At PwC, our people in data management focus on organising and maintaining data to enable accuracy and accessibility for effective decision-making. These individuals handle data governance, quality control, and data integration to support business operations. Those in data infrastructure at PwC focus on designing and implementing robust and scalable data storage and processing systems. You will ensure the efficient management and accessibility of data for analysis and decision-making purposes.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

Focused on relationships, you are building meaningful client connections, and learning how to manage and inspire others. Navigating increasingly complex situations, you are growing your personal brand, deepening technical expertise and awareness of your strengths. You are expected to anticipate the needs of your teams and clients, and to deliver quality. Embracing increased ambiguity, you are comfortable when the path forward isn’t clear, you ask questions, and you use these moments as opportunities to grow.

Examples of the skills, knowledge, and experiences you need to lead and deliver value at this level include but are not limited to:

Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Architect and implement robust cloud solutions using leading platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud.

Infrastructure Automation: Develop automated processes for cloud resource provisioning, configuration, and management using tools like Terraform.

Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate the development and improvements of new and reusable cloud-based systems and services.

Implement and enforce security best practices in cloud environments, including access management, data protection, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Identify areas for process optimization and implement new tools or practices to enhance efficiency and performance.

Manage and monitor cloud environments and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.

DevOps Integration: Utilize DevOps (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, etc) tools and lifecycle processes to streamline infrastructure deployments and updates

Service Management: Oversee SLA/OLA management, service capacity planning, and incident management to meet customer expectations.

Performance Reporting: Measure and report on service performance metrics to prioritize and propose improvements for clients.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

Cloud Platforms: Expertise in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform. Experience in configuration management tools, such as Ansible.

Cloud Security: Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, network security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with AWS/ GCP DevOps, Jenkins, Git, and related technologies. Ideally experience with infrastructure deployments using any DevOps tool.

Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.

Operating Systems: Experience with Linux, and Windows Server environments.

Scripting: Bash/PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.

Web and Application Servers: Familiarity with Apache, NGINX, Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, and IBM WebSphere.

Databases: Knowledge of Oracle/MSSQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL/MongoDB deployment models and maintenance. DB Administration knowledge not required.

Networking: Solid understanding of IP/TCP protocols, WAF, VPNs, load balancer configurations.

Monitoring and Testing: Experience with performance/stress testing and monitoring tools.

PwC Canada acknowledges that we work and live across Turtle Island, on the land that is now known as Canada, which are the lands of the ancestral, treaty and unceded territories of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples. We recognize the systemic racism, colonialism and oppression that Indigenous Peoples have experienced and still go through, and we commit to allyship and solidarity.

This newly created role reflects our commitment to growth and delivering distinctive value for our clients and stakeholders.

The salary range for this position is $87,700 - $137,700. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation. During the hiring process, our Talent Acquisition team will provide details about our comprehensive total rewards package.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in recruiting is just getting started, so we know you have questions about how and why we use it. At certain points during our recruiting process, we rely on AI to improve your experience. This could be during resume review or curating personalized job recommendations, asking you clarifying questions via a chatbot or during our interview scheduling to improve your experience. Our use of AI helps ensure we combat bias by evaluating candidates equally and fairly, without seeing identity information, such as your name, or gender for example). AI also helps us better predict successful hires by reviewing all applicants for a role and the relationship between your skills, experience and likely success at PwC Canada. While AI supports parts of our recruitment process, final hiring decisions always involve human review.
