  • Designing and running data analytics routines and exception testing to identify unclaimed GST/HST, QST, provincial retail sales tax and other indirect tax refund opportunities
  • Working closely with indirect tax specialists to translate legislative rules into data logic, and to validate findings, quantify recoveries and support refund claims
  • Preparing clear dashboards, analyses, spreadsheets and summary reports that communicate recovery findings to engagement teams and clients
  • Engaging client finance, tax and IT stakeholders to scope data requests, understand system configurations and tax codes, and resolve data quality issues
  • Managing the data workstream on engagements, including timelines, budgets and deliverables, while upholding data security, confidentiality and quality standards
  • Developing and enhancing repeatable tools, scripts and automated workflows, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve the efficiency and scalability of recovery reviews
  • Coaching and mentoring team members on data analytics techniques and indirect tax concepts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to bring order to large, unstructured data sets and problems
  • Using straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others; reading situations and modifying behaviour to build quality relationships

What You'll Bring

  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in data analytics, ideally within indirect tax, including experience leading workstreams and supervising team members
  • Advanced proficiency with data analytics tools such as Fabric, Databricks and Alteryx, as well as advanced Excel skills. Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI would be an asset
  • Experience extracting and working with large transactional data sets from ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Working knowledge of GST/HST, QST and provincial sales taxes, and how indirect taxes are recorded in financial systems
  • A completed accounting designation (CPA) or a degree in data analytics, computer science, finance or a related field would be an asset
  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and to travel to client sites as required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to explain technical data findings to non-technical audiences
  • A strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Bilingual (French and English) would be an asset, but is not required
