Original job description

Operations Manager | Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦

Build the operational backbone of a fast-growing Life Science SaaS player fresh off a recent round of funding, looking for an Operations Manager to help scale its internal operations as the business grows internationally.

This is a hands-on business operations role, reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for building the systems, processes and documentation needed to support a growing, distributed team across multiple jurisdictions.

The Role

  • Own employee onboarding and offboarding, including contracts, documentation, benefits and access management.
  • Manage IT and equipment administration, including asset registers, device policies and software access.
  • Oversee employment compliance across Canada, the US and international contractor markets, working closely with external legal advisers where required.
  • Maintain employment policies, internal procedures and process documentation to ensure the business remains compliant and audit-ready.
  • Turn informal, undocumented workflows into structured processes, checklists and tracking systems that operate efficiently as the company scales.
  • Partner with leadership and finance to ensure smooth day-to-day business operations.

About You

  • 4–7 years’ experience in business operations, people operations or a similar role within a growing technology business.
  • Experience supporting a venture-backed company or scaling organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Quebec employment legislation and relevant compliance requirements.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment.
  • A proven ability to build practical processes from scratch and drive accountability without constant oversight.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Work directly with the CEO and have a meaningful impact on how the business scales.
  • Join an ambitious, international technology company operating in a rapidly evolving sector.
  • Take ownership of the operational infrastructure underpinning the company's next phase of growth.
