Quadra’s Performance Adhesives and Specialties team supports customers across Canada with formulated adhesives, coatings, and lubricant solutions that improve plant performance, product quality, safe operation, and total cost of use. This role is designed to bring dedicated technical support to the sales team and help customers turn product recommendations into measurable value on the production floor.
The Technical Representative – Performance Adhesives and Specialties will support the sales team in the development and growth of formulated adhesives and lubricant opportunities across Canada. Based in Montreal and reporting to the Business Director, this role will provide hands-on technical support across the markets currently covered by the group, including packaging and labeling, flexible packaging, industrial rubber-to-substrate assembly, structural assembly using adhesives in the general transportation market, automotive coatings and adhesive applications, and food-grade or industrial lubricant opportunities.
The successful candidate will work closely with Account Managers, Product Managers, suppliers, and customers to evaluate processes, support plant trials, troubleshoot applications, and build clear value propositions. A key part of the role will be to document customer value through audits, ROI studies, value events, technical visit reports, and practical recommendations that help customers reduce waste, improve efficiency, validate product performance, and better understand the value Quadra brings beyond the product itself.

Here are some of the main responsibilities of the Technical Representative – Performance Adhesives and Specialties:
- Provide technical support to the sales team for formulated adhesives, performance adhesives, coatings, and lubricant opportunities across Canada.
- Support customers in packaging and labeling, flexible packaging, industrial rubber-to-substrate assembly, structural adhesive assembly in general transportation, automotive coatings and adhesive applications, and lubricant-related applications.
- Conduct proactive customer visits, process audits, application reviews, and technical evaluations at existing customer sites to identify improvement opportunities.
- Plan, support, and document plant trials, product validations, line evaluations, and troubleshooting activities with customers, Account Managers, Product Managers, and supplier technical teams.
- Work with Account Managers to build strong customer value propositions based on technical performance, operational efficiency, reduced waste, improved quality, food safety, sustainability, compliance, and total cost of use.
- Develop ROI studies and value-event documentation that quantify the measurable value Quadra brings to customers through product selection, application support, process optimization, and supplier collaboration.
- Prepare clear visit reports, trial summaries, audit findings, recommendations, and follow-up action plans for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the launch and growth of strategic platforms such as Henkel packaging adhesives, flexible packaging adjacencies, rubber bonding solutions, and FUCHS lubricant opportunities by providing practical field support and technical credibility.
- Maintain accurate documentation of technical activities, customer interactions, opportunities, and follow-up actions in Salesforce and other required internal systems.
- Share field learnings, customer insights, best practices, and technical knowledge with the broader Performance Adhesives and Specialties team to improve consistency, execution, and customer support across the country.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the adhesive industry, ideally with direct exposure to formulated adhesives, packaging adhesives, industrial assembly adhesives, coatings, and related specialty applications.
- Approximately 5 years of experience with adhesive dispensing equipment, including the ability to understand equipment set-up, application parameters, common failure points, and the interaction between adhesive performance and line conditions.
- Strong knowledge of production lines using adhesives, including packaging, labeling, flexible packaging, industrial assembly, rubber-to-substrate bonding, automotive-related applications, and other process-driven manufacturing environments.
- Good troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to assess adhesive performance issues from both a product and process perspective, identify root causes, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Experience supporting plant trials, process audits, equipment reviews, line evaluations, and product validations directly at customer sites.
- Strong experience with adhesive dispensing equipment is considered a clear asset, particularly for customers where product performance, application method, equipment condition, and line efficiency are closely connected.
- Ability to work closely with Account Managers, Product Managers, suppliers, OEMs, maintenance teams, operators, plant managers, quality teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Existing connections with adhesive equipment OEMs, supplier technical teams, and industry contacts are considered an asset to support troubleshooting, trials, and customer value creation.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across Canada to support customer visits, audits, plant trials, supplier activities, and sales team initiatives.

Compensation Information: The annual base pay range for this position is reasonably expected to be between $88,100.00 and $148,625.00 Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is only a part of the total rewards package - this role will also be eligible for a generous incentive program and full benefits. Quadra’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. Please note that the base pay shown qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
