Job Summary
The Personal Support Worker is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the Care Coordinator and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Assistance with personal care and hygiene
- Meal Preparation
- Light Housekeeping
- Accompany clients on outings
- Shopping and errands
- Medication Assist/ Reminders
- Ambulation and transporting of clients
- Provide companionship to clients
- Ability to follow care-plan
- Documentation/Charting
- Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student).
- Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
- Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
- Ability to travel around Pickering territory
- Access to Internet/mobile phone
- Urdu or Hindi speaking preferred due to client requirements
- Female applicants preferred due to client requirement

Requirements
Applicants need a Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent, such as foreign-trained nursing experience or nursing student status, and current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain it. A negative TB test or chest X-ray, ability to travel within Pickering, and access to the internet and a mobile phone are required; Urdu or Hindi is preferred, and female applicants are preferred due to client requirements.
