Job Type: Contract
Duration: Varies (expected TA average of 2 years)
Location: Ottawa Hybrid
Security: Secret or Top Secret Clearance required
Technical Writer
- University undergraduate degree or diploma or Ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience understanding of IT infrastructure terminology as it is used in documentation, specifically with those used with networking (LAN/WAN), servers and telephony systems.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience and advanced skills in producing Word, Excel and Visio Pro documents. (ie. MS Office Suite, Adobe, Sharepoint, etc).
- A minimum of ten years’ experience and capacity to produce and review technical documents.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience creating online help files or systems, training packages, etc.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience, knowledge and understanding of software development practices and lifecycle.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience knowledge with ITSG33 or equivalent documented standards.

Responsibilities
Produce and review technical documents covering IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, and telephony systems. Create online help systems and training packages, using relevant documentation tools and standards.
Requirements
Requires a university degree or diploma, or ten years of progressive IT experience, and at least ten years of experience in IT infrastructure terminology, technical documentation, and online help or training materials. Also requires advanced skills with Word, Excel, and Visio Pro, knowledge of software development practices and lifecycle, and familiarity with ITSG-33 or equivalent documented standards.
