Original job description
For the first time ever, we have the technology to fundamentally change how insurance operates, and the stakes are human. Better insurance means families protected from harm, businesses able to take risks, and communities more resilient when the worst happens. For insurance practitioners, the ability to deliver this level of service finally becomes possible.
What We Do
Quandri brings deeply specific, vertically-focused AI to the industry’s most critical stakeholders:insurance agencies and brokerages.
Agents are the lifeblood of the industry, the place where most property and casualty insurance is sold and serviced. Yet operating an agency is harder than ever. Peak product complexity, accelerating consolidation, a deepening talent crisis, and the AI revolution are all reshaping how agencies work.
Quandri sits at the cutting edge of this shift, rebuilding how agencies operate one workflow at a time. We pair a deep understanding of insurance processes, systems, and data with serious technical capability and proprietary models, so the transformation is tangible and operational rather than aspirational.
We’re making insurance better for policyholders, while helping insurance brokerages deliver a better client service, grow faster, and harness AI so that they control the future of insurance distribution.
Why join us?
This is a rare seat. You will build Quandri’s partnerships function from the ground up, own some of the company’s most important distribution growth bets, and report directly to the CEO with a real say in the company’s strategy.
You will define how this function works rather than inherit someone else's playbook, and you will have the equity, the mandate, and the runway to make it matter.
We are headquartered in beautiful Vancouver, BC, backed by leading US and Canadian investors, and the recognition has followed:
- LinkedIn’s Top Canadian Startups in 2024 & 2025
- Deloitte’s Fast 50
- CB Insights’ Insurtech 50 and Fintech 100
- The Globe and Mail’s Top Growing Companies in Canada.
Quandri is seeking a Sales Development Representative to join our team. The Sales Development team at Quandri is often the first point of contact for many of our target customers. Your mission will be to build excitement about Quandri throughout the insurance brokerage and agency marketplace, and provide value to prospects right from the outset.
The ideal candidate for this position is flexible and adaptable with the ability to fulfill a variety of functions.
What you’ll do:
- Build a strong sales pipeline through calls, email campaigns and objection handling
- Convert qualified opportunities to sales accepted opportunities
- Relay relevant customer and market information to internal stakeholders
- Manage outbound campaigns to drive lead generation using tools such as LinkedIn outreach, email campaigns, and cold calling
- Attend conferences and industry events across Canada and the United States, representing Quandri, meeting with prospects and customers, and acquiring new leads
- Ensure CRM (HubSpot) system is kept up to date with relevant information from sales calls and specific information about the deal/customer
- Build out and maintain sales processes and materials
- Bring your thinking, strategies, and ideas to advance our company’s values, unique culture, and vision for the future
- Evangelize the problem Quandri solves, and Quandri as a solution to that problem within the insurance industry
- Contribute to other areas of the business where you can add value as opportunities come up
- We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of experience in sales development or business development.
- Experience working in an early-stage environment
- Proven track record with New Account Development
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Entrepreneurial drive in entering new markets to establish a business presence
- Consistent track record for meeting and exceeding lead generation and sales objectives
- A high level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, commitment and professionalism
- Organizational and planning skills
- Discipline to maintain high levels of output
- Experience with the insurance industry
- Experience at a venture-backed SaaS company
- Ownership. You own your work and take pride in your team’s success. We never hear you say “that’s not my job.” Of course we’re here to support you every step of the way, but we want someone who continually seeks more responsibility and thrives in high accountability environments.
- Problem solver. As we’re dealing with new technology, you will need to experiment, think creatively and be okay with failing in order to find the right solutions. We’re looking for someone who enjoys this process.
- High standards. We hold high standards as an organization and expect you to push our standards even higher. While perfection can be the enemy of progress, we do expect very high quality work.
- Adaptable. As we’re an early stage company, things are constantly changing and it is a fast paced environment. You need to be able to adapt and change with it.
- Impact. We don’t expect you to be married to your job, but you take it seriously and want to make a big impact. We’re not interested in playing small and want someone who feels the same way.
- Curious. Our customers are awesome and they have amazing problems for us to solve - you should be genuinely interested in our product, industry, customers and the challenges that we are solving. This is essential to be successful in any role at Quandri.
- You go deep. You understand problems at a very deep level and aren’t satisfied with a surface level understanding. You are able to leverage this understanding in your day to day work to build better, holistic solutions.
- Intelligent. You need to be smart and able to learn new concepts quickly.
- The range for base pay is $55,000 - $65,000 which is dependent on level of experience. This is not inclusive of variable pay.
- Variable pay will be uncapped, and based on qualified sales pipeline generation. The On Target commission for this position will be $50,000 per year. This means that the total OTE for this role is $105,000 - $115,000.
- Comprehensive health benefits, including Lifestyle Spending account
- Four weeks of paid vacation per year
Don’t let imposter syndrome stop you from applying. Great people sometimes don’t have the “right” experience. If you think that you’ll be amazing at this role then we encourage you to apply.
At Quandri, we build technology that automates the repetitive so people can focus on what actually matters - and we apply that same philosophy internally. In our hiring process, that means using AI to handle the administrative and logistical work so our interviewers can show up more fully in every conversation with you. AI tools support parts of our process, such as analyzing resumes and taking notes during interviews. But AI is never the decision maker. Every hiring decision is made by real people who are invested in getting it right - for you and for Quandri. If you have questions about how your information is handled or how we use AI, don't hesitate to reach out.
