Position: Technical Program Manager | Safety Software
Location: Montréal, QC (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-time

Be the person who knows what's shipping, when, and what's in the way.

Our client is a Montréal-based public safety software company. Its close-knit, highly experienced team has spent decades designing, deploying and supporting software used worldwide by 911 centers to process calls for service, and by police, fire and ambulance agencies for computer-aided dispatch and real-time collaboration between first responders.

They're looking for a Technical Program Manager to be the connective tissue between Product Management and Engineering. You'll turn requirements into a plan engineering teams can execute against, run sprint and release planning across multiple teams, and catch cross-team dependencies before they become delivery risks. You'll report to the Director of Program Management.

What you'll do:

- Partner closely with Product Management to translate requirements into well-scoped Jira epics and stories
- Plan and facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement and release scheduling across multiple engineering teams
- Track cross-team dependencies, risks and blockers, and drive them to resolution
- Own release management end to end: scheduling, coordination, go/no-go decisions and post-release retrospectives
- Maintain Jira as the single source of truth for engineering work, including boards, workflows and sprint/release reporting
- Report delivery status, risks and timelines clearly to engineering leadership and Product stakeholders
- Spot recurring process bottlenecks and drive improvements to how the organization plans and ships

What you bring:

Must-haves
- 4+ years in technical program management, scrum master or release management in a software organization
- Hands-on Jira expertise (workflows, boards, automation, reporting); Jira administration is a strong plus
- Proven experience coordinating delivery across multiple engineering teams at the same time
- Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle and agile/scrum methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication, equally comfortable with engineers and Product Managers
- Ability to juggle several sprints and releases at once without losing the details

Nice to have
- Certification such as CSM, PMP or SAFe
- Background as a software engineer or QA engineer
- Experience with release automation tooling or CI/CD pipelines

Why join:

- Shape the future of mission-critical public safety software
- Significant autonomy and ownership of product functionality
- Work directly with experienced product and engineering leadership
- Tackle technically challenging problems with complex operational requirements
- Build solutions that directly support emergency responders and public safety organizations
