Position: Cloud DevOps & Integration Engineer | Public Safety Software
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-time

Help keep emergency response running when it matters most.

Our client is a Montréal-based public safety software company. Its close-knit, highly experienced team has spent decades building, deploying and supporting software used worldwide by 911 centers to process calls for service, and by police, fire and ambulance agencies for computer-aided dispatch and real-time collaboration between first responders.

They're looking for a Cloud DevOps & Integration Engineer to lead the deployment, automation and technical integration of mission-critical solutions across cloud, on-premises and hybrid infrastructures. You'll sit at the crossroads of systems engineering, DevOps automation, cloud architecture and integration testing, working directly with development teams. You'll report to the Operations Lead.

What you'll do:

- Cloud deployment and AWS support: Deploy, configure and support customer AWS environments, including EC2 instances, VPCs, Site-to-Site VPN connections and related cloud networking.
- Application deployment and containerization: Deploy and support proprietary software in Linux environments, on-premises and in AWS, using Docker, PostgreSQL and modern container workflows.
- Cloud security and compliance: Manage, harden and monitor the security posture of cloud environments in line with industry best practices.
- Developer integration and testing: Work with software developers on integration tests for emerging technologies, third-party tools and database replication tools across Linux and Windows, on-premises and in the cloud.
- DevOps and automation: Build, maintain and streamline CI/CD pipelines and configuration management to standardize releases and server provisioning.
- Database and high availability: Configure, maintain and monitor SQL database engines (primarily PostgreSQL), optimizing backup strategies, clustering, failover and replication integrity.
- Hybrid infrastructure and virtualization: Administer and troubleshoot hybrid deployments across Linux distributions, Windows Server and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
- Client engagement and cutover support: Act as the lead technical integration authority during critical customer cutovers, provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and, when required, occasional on-site support in the Greater Montréal area.

What you bring:

Must-haves
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud integration or systems engineering, delivering enterprise software solutions
- Strong hands-on AWS experience (EC2, VPC, Site-to-Site VPN, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch) and exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments
- Deep experience administering, securing and troubleshooting Linux distributions
- Proven proficiency with Docker, container networking, and automation/scripting
- Solid experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server (queries, performance tuning, replication tools)
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, Site-to-Site VPNs, subnets, routing, firewalls, reverse proxies and certificate management
- Practical experience supporting developer test suites and validating integration pipelines on both Windows and Linux server platforms

Nice to have
- Experience with 911 call handling, computer-aided dispatch (CAD) or other mission-critical public safety systems

Why join:

- Shape the future of mission-critical public safety software
- Significant autonomy and ownership of product functionality
- Work directly with experienced product and engineering leaders
- Take on technically challenging problems with complex operational requirements
- Build innovative solutions that directly support emergency responders and public safety organization
