Position: Principal Architect - Enterprise AI & Agentic Platforms
Compensation: $250,000-$280,000 base salary
Job Type: Permanent
Working Model: Hybrid - 3-4 days onsite per week in downtown Toronto

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal Architect to provide enterprise-wide architectural leadership for a leading AI platform company helping regulated institutions modernize how critical work is designed, governed, and delivered.

The organization develops innovative AI platforms that enable enterprises to accelerate transformation while maintaining the governance, accountability, security, and control required in highly regulated environments.

In this role, you will define architectural standards, establish technical direction, and drive consistency across complex enterprise AI transformations. You will serve as a senior technical authority, influencing enterprise technology strategy and ensuring AI implementations remain scalable, secure, and maintainable.

This is a high-impact architecture leadership opportunity for someone who can balance enterprise-wide standardization with the practical realities of complex client engagements.

What You'll Own

• Define enterprise architecture and technical standards for complex AI transformations, including agent design, orchestration, integration, and API architecture.
• Lead the development and adoption of reusable reference architectures, implementation patterns, and technical capabilities across enterprise engagements.
• Provide architectural leadership and guidance to senior architects, engineering leaders, and executive stakeholders, including CIOs and Chief Architects.
• Establish security, data governance, and responsible AI architecture patterns that address regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers, resolve complex architecture challenges, and drive improvements in scalability, maintainability, and technical consistency.

What We're Looking For

Must Haves:

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise technology delivery, including senior technical leadership and executive-facing roles.
• Demonstrated experience designing enterprise-scale AI platforms incorporating agentic AI, RAG, orchestration frameworks, API ecosystems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Deep expertise in enterprise software architecture, integration patterns, API design, and technical governance.
• Proven ability to establish reusable architecture standards and influence enterprise technology decisions across multiple teams or organizations.
• Strong understanding of security, data governance, and responsible AI within regulated environments, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

-Previous experience as a Principal Architect, Chief Architect, or senior architecture leader within a software, SaaS, or AI platform organization.

• Experience with enterprise AI ecosystems such as Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, or Anthropic.
• Background in financial services technology or other regulated industries.
• Experience developing reusable architecture frameworks, AI governance systems, or enterprise platforms that drive adoption and reduce duplicated engineering effort.
