Role: Cloud Engineering / FinOps (Director Level)

Type: Full-Time Employment

Location: 4 days onsite per week – downtown Toronto

Seniority, Ownership & Hands-On Delivery

  • 10+ years spanning cloud engineering and FinOps: hands-on cloud/platform engineering experience, plus 3+ years leading a FinOps or cloud cost function at the Director/Head level.
  • Track record of owning a FinOps or cloud cost program end to end, independently, with accountability for results, including doing the analysis and optimization work yourself, not only directing others.
  • Proven delivery of material, measurable cloud savings over multiple quarters, and improved cost-to-serve.

Cloud Engineering Background (Azure)

  • Strong, practical understanding of Azure architecture and cost drivers (compute, AKS/Kubernetes, storage, networking, observability), gained from a background in cloud or platform engineering, not only from the finance side.
  • Able to validate engineering estimates and savings claims, and to spot when a technical choice will create cost or risk.
  • Able to translate technical choices into financial impact and guide teams toward cost-efficient designs.

Responsibilities
