Original job description

POSITION: Elementary Intermediate Teacher - temporary

ASSIGNMENT: Grade 6-7

FTE: 1.0

LOCATION: Dragon Lake Elementary School

EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing ASAP until November 30, 2026, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of extension and/or reduction in FTE.

Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:

Training Specialization: Elementary Education with specialization at the Intermediate level

Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the Intermediate level

A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be in good standing with the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch. They must have elementary education training with an intermediate specialization, recent successful intermediate-level teaching experience, or a reasonable expectation of being able to perform the role successfully; willingness to collaborate and support school-wide initiatives is also required.
