We’re looking for our next Senior Manager, Software Engineering. Could It Be You?

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering (CIAM) is responsible for leading the architectural vision and engineering roadmap for Customer Identity and Access Management within the Software Platform Engineering group. This role leads multiple identity squads and technical leads to build, scale, and secure high-availability platforms covering authentication, fine-grained authorization, SSO, MFA, and federated protocols. Partnering cross-functionally with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and digital channels, this leader ensures a frictionless yet highly secure client authentication experience while governing vendor relationships, sprint delivery, and stringent system reliability standards.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setting the multi-year technology vision and architecture strategy for the Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) domain, translating enterprise priorities into a coherent platform evolution roadmap that supports massive scale, system resilience, and a frictionless client authentication experience.

  • Building and leading a high-performing engineering organization composed of multiple identity squads and technical leads, fostering an inclusive culture of engineering excellence, psychological safety, and continuous professional growth that attracts and retains top talent.

  • Governing the design, deployment, and end-to-end lifecycle of core identity services - including authentication, fine-grained authorization, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and federated protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML) - ensuring strict adherence to financial security and privacy regulations.

  • Serving as the primary engineering voice in cross-functional forums, partnering closely with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, and digital channel squads to align roadmaps, resolve complex architectural dependencies, and represent platform engineering decisions with data-driven credibility.

  • Establishing robust engineering operating rhythms, including sprint execution standards, architecture reviews, system SLOs/SLAs, on-call rotations, and incident response runbooks to ensure identity systems run at five-nines availability and production escalations are remediated swiftly.

  • Leading technical evaluations and vendor governance for identity and access management platforms, driving informed build-versus-buy decisions, contract and tooling investments, and technology integrations to optimize cost and platform efficacy.

  • Driving continuous improvement in software quality, security posture, and delivery velocity through metrics-driven retrospectives, automated testing, modern CI/CD pipelines, and proactive reduction of technical and architectural debt.

  • Championing a culture of technical innovation and knowledge sharing across engineering teams, facilitating forums for secure identity best practices, emerging authentication technologies (e.g., passkeys, passwordless), and resilient distributed system design.

So are YOU our next Senior Manager, Software Engineering? You are if you…

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience

  • Have 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 3 years of direct people leadership experience, leading software engineering teams or squads

  • Have proven experience designing, delivering, and operating large-scale, high-availability Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platforms and user authentication flows

  • Have deep technical proficiency with modern identity, authentication, and authorization standards and protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, MFA, and SSO)

  • Have demonstrated experience with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems built for enterprise reliability and resilience

  • Have hands-on exposure to enterprise identity platforms or IDaaS solutions (e.g., Okta, Ping Identity, Auth0, ForgeRock) and managing hybrid identity architectures

  • Are familiar with modern authentication patterns, including passwordless authentication, FIDO2/WebAuthn, passkeys, and risk-based adaptive authentication

  • Have a proven track record of leading complex identity migration programs, platform consolidations, or legacy modernization initiatives with zero customer downtime

  • Have experience using and maintaining platforms on GCP, AWS, or the like, at scale

Additional kudos if you…

  • Have prior experience in financial services, banking, wealth management, or other highly regulated environments subject to strict data governance and regulatory compliance
