RVA is looking for a Project Engineer to join our Urban and Riverine Systems team in our Toronto office.
The successful candidate will support a variety of projects, including stormwater management, flood control, watershed modeling, and infrastructure design. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, planners, and clients.
Duties:
- Assist in the design and development of stormwater, drainage, and flood management systems
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for water resources projects
- Perform infrastructure planning and assessment studies, including Municipal Class EA, Master Plans, Basement flooding, capacity analysis, and system optimization.
- Analyze storm and sanitary system performance and identify practical solutions and strategies for system optimization and improvement.
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff in performing their tasks.
- Support proposal development, including write-up, project schedule, and fee estimation.
- Prepare technical drawings, reports, and specifications using CAD and GIS software
- Conduct site assessments, data collection, and analysis to support design recommendations
- Work with project managers and engineers to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
- Support the preparation of permit applications and environmental documentation
- Assist in cost estimation and construction documentation
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a consulting environment supporting linear infrastructure projects
- Work experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and SWMM
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools
- Experience with flow monitoring and rainfall data analysis
- Knowledge of stormwater best management practices (BMPs)
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field, from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Registered as a Professional Engineers with PEO.

Compensation Range:
The compensation range for this position is from $85,000.00 - $135,000.00
Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
