Detail Job Description
We are looking for an experienced VMware Implementor with expertise performing VMware upgrades.
This role requires a technical architect/implementator with experience planning and implementing VMware upgrade from VSphere 8 to VCF 9.x spanning multiple data centres in Canada and the US.
In relation to these initiatives and some operational requirements we require an Infrastructure Architect/Implementer to assist with our design and upgrade implementation of VMware.
The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Work with an established team of solution architects to plan and execute an existing VMware environment upgrade to 9.x.
- Providing input to the IS Infrastructure project deliverables (schedules, test plans, test results, implementation plans, transition to operations, processes/procedures) and other documents as needed.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing the support processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards and regulatory requirements and to ensure mitigation of risk.

Responsibilities
Plan and execute the upgrade of a multi-data-center VMware environment from vSphere 8 to VCF 9.x, including workload migration and related testing. Contribute to project schedules, test and implementation plans, transition-to-operations documentation, and support processes that meet policies, standards, and regulatory requirements while mitigating risk.
Requirements
Requires experience in VMware architecture, design, implementation, upgrades to VCF 9.x, workload migration, and the VMware stack, including SRM, NSX-T, vSphere, vSAN, and vLCM. Experience leading disaster recovery and high-availability testing is desired, as is VMware professional training or certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, or VCP-TKG.
