Job Title :- Senior API Connect Developer / API Gateway Platform Engineer | 7+ Years
Location:- Toronto GTA(Scarborough, ON)- onsite

Must Have
· Strong hands-on experience with IBM API Connect v10, DataPower API Gateway, API Assembly and User Defined Policies (UDP).
· Experience with API onboarding, publishing, deployment, Products, Plans, Catalogs and subscriptions across enterprise environments.
· Configure and support gateway policies for security, routing, transformation, traffic management and backend integration.
· Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, REST and OpenAPI/API security standards.
· Experience with Ansible and CI/CD automation for API validation, onboarding, publishing, deployment and configuration.
· Support APIC platform upgrades, fix packs/firmware, migrations, version lifecycle and weekly releases.
· Provide L2 production support, troubleshooting and RCA for APIC/API Gateway platform issues.
· Review new digital/API intake requirements and provide technical assessment, platform impact and effort sizing.
· Follow bank-defined Enterprise Architecture patterns and standards for API Gateway onboarding, security, configuration and deployment.
Good to Have
· Experience with AWS and AWS API Gateway, particularly in hybrid/cloud API integration environments.
· TDD and automated API testing experience.
· Exposure to Agentic AI for API testing, validation, troubleshooting and platform automation.
· Experience supporting large-scale, highly governed enterprise API platforms.
· BFSI/banking domain understanding, including secure and highly available digital/API platforms.

Responsibilities
Develop and support the IBM API Connect and DataPower API Gateway platform, including API onboarding, publishing, deployment, gateway policy configuration, upgrades, and releases. Provide production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, automate API lifecycle processes, and assess new API requirements against enterprise architecture standards.
Requirements
Requires 7+ years of experience and strong hands-on expertise with IBM API Connect v10, DataPower API Gateway, API Assembly, user-defined policies, API security, and Ansible-based CI/CD automation. Experience with platform upgrades, production support, enterprise API governance, and secure API standards is required; AWS API Gateway, automated testing, Agentic AI, and banking experience are advantageous.
