About the Role

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and period-end close activities. This role ensures accurate and timely financial data entry, processing, and reporting while maintaining proper documentation and adherence to accounting procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, organized, and eager to learn, with the ability to leverage accounting software, spreadsheets, and AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall financial operations.

Responsibilities

Manage Accounts Payable data entry and processing, ensuring accurate coding, verification, and completeness of receipts and supporting documentation.
Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, including accruals, recurring monthly entries, and adjustments.
Perform bank, credit card, and other general ledger account reconciliations.
Assist with period-end and month-end close processes, financial reporting, and accounting administrative tasks.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and support other accounting-related requests and duties as assigned.
Liaise with company managers, vendors, and the accounting team to resolve discrepancies and support day-to-day financial operations.
Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Completed post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Experience using accounting software and financial systems.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Comfort using AI tools to improve productivity, speed, and accuracy in accounting and administrative tasks.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
Proactive, dependable, and quick to learn, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
