Radical Ventures’ portfolio companies, the Velocity team comprises experienced founders,
AI luminaries, investors, talent experts, communication experts, and technologists.

The Role
We are seeking an AI Product Engineer with a passion for building AI-native applications,
designing and shipping tools from 0→1, and turning ideas into production-ready systems.
This is a unique opportunity to join Radical and own high-impact projects end-to-end.
While this role spans the full stack, there is a particular emphasis on building robust backend
systems, data infrastructure, and the engineering foundations that power AI-native products.

You will design and deploy tools that:

Provide insights into portfolio and market dynamics
Enhance sourcing, diligence, and investment decision-making
Automate workflows and create intelligent systems that improve operational leverage

This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial engineer, who thrives in fast-paced environments,
and enjoys designing, building, and shipping AI-native products end-to-end. You'll be equally
comfortable building polished user experiences and designing scalable backend systems,
data infrastructure, and AI-powered services.
Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications end-to-end to support investment
workflows and internal operations
Prototype and refine tools leveraging LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face,
LangChain)
Design and engineer robust backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and integrations
across internal and external data sources
Experiment with advanced LLM application patterns, including agentic workflows,
function calling, model composition, and evaluation frameworks
Build reusable platform components, developer tooling, and infrastructure that
accelerate product development across the team
Collaborate with investment and operations teams to translate business needs into
scalable software solutions
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code while ensuring
security, reliability, and performance
Champion engineering quality through testing, observability, thoughtful system
design, and code reviews

Stay current on emerging AI technologies and bring fresh insights to the firm

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer
Engineering, or a related discipline
4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating
production systems
Strong full-stack engineering skills, with particular strength in backend development
(Python, Java, Go, or similar) and experience building modern web applications
(TypeScript, React, or similar)
Experience designing APIs, working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL
Server), and building data pipelines
Experience building production applications powered by LLMs, including prompt
engineering, evaluation, and iterative improvement
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in an unstructured,
fast-moving environment

Bonus Points For:

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or modern cloud infrastructure
Experience building developer tooling, internal platforms, or reusable infrastructure
components

Why Join Radical?

Direct impact: Your work will directly shape how a top global VC firm operates –
designing and shipping AI-native tools that enhance decision-making and scale
insight.
Unique exposure: Gain insight into both cutting-edge AI technology and the venture
capital ecosystem, while working alongside companies that are pushing the
boundaries of what’s possible with AI
World-class network: Collaborate with Radical’s scientific advisors and industry
leaders at the forefront of AI
Entrepreneurial environment: Freedom to build, experiment, and take ownership of
meaningful projects early in your career
