Field Superintendent

Contract Length: 2 months and 12 days
Location: Key Lake, Saskatchewan
Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
Rotation (2 weeks in-2weeks out, 11 hours a day)
Company Charter Flights provided - Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Contractors are expected to travel to Saskatoon for chartered flights to camp sites.

Raise is currently hiring a Field Superintendent on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.

Description

The Field Superintendent in this role, will be working on a Tank Refurbishment Project and will be primarily responsible for ensuring that all contractors and direct-hire personnel within your designated area adhere strictly to safety program requirements. You will oversee structural and mechanical/piping scopes of work, manage contractor performance, drive project schedules, and collaborate closely with operations to guarantee safe, high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities

The Field Superintendent has primary responsibility to ensure contractors within their area are working in a safe manner abiding by all safety program requirements
The Field Superintendent will review and/or develop detailed work plans according to ’s workface planning processes
In some instances, the Field Superintendent may perform supervision of direct field labour on mechanical/piping scopes of work ensuring the work is completed safely and to a high quality standard
In some instances, the Field Superintendent will oversee the contractor’s activities of a mechanical/piping nature confirming the work is completed safely and according to all contract requirements
Inspections of completed work to confirm it is completed to appropriate standards, identifying deficiencies and managing the completion of deficiencies
Monitoring the schedule and productivity of work and work collaboratively with the contractor and operations personnel to resolve issues and barriers
Daily validation and approval of contractor submitted labour, equipment and material reports
Responsible to coordinate field activities between contractors and the operations team as required

Qualifications

Senior (10+ years) preferred (Intermediate candidates with 4-9 years of highly relevant heavy industrial or mining experience will also be considered)
Minimum of 4 to 10+ years of heavy industrial construction, mining, or major project execution experience in a supervisory or superintendent capacity.
Direct experience with tank refurbishment projects, with a strong preference for candidates holding a background as a certified Boilermaker.
Demonstrated hands-on experience overseeing or executing mechanical/piping installation, repair, and quality control standards.
Proven track record of managing third-party contractors, reviewing daily progress reports, and resolving schedule or productivity roadblocks.
Experience implementing workface planning processes and conducting rigorous quality/safety field inspections.
Education and Certifications
Interprovincial Red Seal certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Boilermaker, Mechanical, or Pipefitting) or a related engineering/technologist diploma is strongly preferred.
Common Safety Orientation (CSO) designation is mandatory.
Valid standard first aid and industry-standard supervisory leadership training are considered strong assets.
