SAP Support Technician

• Pay Rate: $40.14/hour, depending on experience

Raise is currently hiring a Contract SAP Support Technician on behalf of our client. Reporting to the CMMS Lead, Maintenance Work Management & Performance Department, this role provides end-user support and helps enhance maintenance work management processes and systems across the client’s SAGD facilities. Our Client, the third largest producer of Canadian oil and natural gas and the second largest refiner and upgrader with extensive midstream and downstream infrastructure.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Contract SAP Support Technician will provide end-user support for maintenance work management processes in SAP, focusing on work identification, execution, and closeout. The role will support process optimization, SAP functionality enhancements, training, coaching, reporting, and performance management.

The successful candidate will bring strong maintenance and SAP Plant Maintenance experience, along with knowledge of work management processes, reporting, Power BI, and maintenance standards within the energy industry.

Responsibilities

SAP & Work Management Support

• Provide end-user support for SAP work management processes, including Notifications and Work Orders.
• Support work identification, execution, and closeout activities.
• Identify opportunities to optimize SAP functionality and reduce transactional work.
• Recommend process and system improvements to increase efficiency.
• Provide technical support and recommendations on SAP-related issues.
• Prioritize system requirements and user requests based on organizational needs.
  
  

Training & Process Improvement

• Deliver SAP training and develop related work instructions and procedures.
• Coach users on SAP work management processes and standards.
• Conduct audits to confirm alignment with established procedures and standards.
• Support alignment and standardization of CMMS procedures and practices across sites.
• Stay current with new technical applications and support implementation activities.
  
  

Reporting & Data Analysis

• Manage SAP reporting and information requests.
• Assist with the development of SAP and Power BI reports and KPIs.
• Leverage corporate dashboards to monitor performance and support business requirements.
• Perform data queries and report building.
• Investigate critical metrics and reporting data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  
  

Stakeholder & Site Support

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across Calgary and other operating sites.
• Support business needs across Foster Creek, Christina Lake, and Sunrise as required.
• Provide backup support for other sites when needed.
• Build strong working relationships with end users and multiple business partners.
• Communicate effectively in a busy, multi-stakeholder environment.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related maintenance experience, preferably within the energy industry.
• Strong understanding of SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM).
• Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of maintenance work management processes, standards, and procedures.
• Experience with data queries and report development.
• Experience working with integrated computer systems and new technologies.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting CMMS processes and maintenance management systems.
• Experience developing SAP and Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and reports.
• Experience delivering SAP training and developing work instructions.
• Experience supporting SAP process optimization and system enhancements.
• Maintenance experience within oil & gas, energy, or SAGD operations.
• Experience working across multiple operating sites and multidisciplinary teams.
• Education and Certifications
• High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
• Technical diploma or Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification is an asset.
