We are seeking a Project Manager for an established client of ours servicing multiple sectors of the construction industry. This would be an ideal role for junior project manager or a project coordinator looking for a step up in their career.
The Project Manager will work closely with senior project leadership, clients, subtrades, and engineering teams to oversee commercial projects from initial award through to final turnover. This role combines office-based client management, and active on-site oversight across commercial construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution & Management: Lead and support the day-to-day management of commercial construction projects, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and architectural specifications.
- Site Coordination & Quality Control: Perform regular jobsite visits to inspect progress, verify build quality against drawings/specs, enforce WorkSafeBC life-safety protocols, and resolve field issues.
- Contract & Change Management: Administer project documentation using project tools, including managing RFIs, shop drawing submittals, Site Instructions, and change order requests (CCOs/COs).
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for General Contractors, architects, structural and envelope consultants, suppliers, and client representatives.
- Financial & Schedule Oversight: Monitor project milestones, review progress billings, assist with quantity take-offs/estimates, and maintain project schedules.
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in commercial construction, ideally as a Project Coordinator or Junior PM working for a General Contractor
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Construction) is highly desired; diplomas in Construction Management or Architectural Building Technology from BCIT (or equivalent) will also be considered.
- Background Focus: General contracting and commercial building background required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with industry software (Procore, Bluebeam Revu, MS Project, Smartsheet, AutoCAD/Revit).
- Licensing & Travel: Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for jobsite visits across the Lower Mainland.
