Original job description

Are you an ambitious, tech-forward accounting professional or CPA candidate looking for a role where you can truly grow, learn, and make a visible impact?

Are you looking for a role where you can get into the operational details, mastering full-cycle accounting, project costing, and multi-entity reconciliations, while receiving direct mentorship from senior finance leadership?

Do you want to work with a modern company that leverages AI tools and workflow automation to eliminate manual data entry so you can focus on high-value review, analysis, and growth?

If you are a high-grit, curious problem solver who is hungry to learn, build your skill set, and grow alongside an expanding business, this is the opportunity you have been looking for!

We have partnered with a rapidly expanding, multi-entity building services, construction, and technology solutions firm in Toronto seeking an agile, motivated Senior Accountant to join their finance team. Operating in a flexible hybrid setup, this role offers the perfect balance of hands-on operational exposure and direct mentorship from executive finance leadership.

Whether you are looking to build on existing industry experience or step up into a role with broader technical depth, you will find a collaborative environment eager to invest in your development.

Why Join This Team?

Mentorship & Career Growth: Report directly to the VP of Finance / CFO, receiving hands-on guidance and gaining multi-entity exposure across 6 operating companies as you grow into higher-level responsibilities.

Competitive Compensation & Benefits: A market-aligned base salary of $80-90K, an annual discretionary performance bonus, and comprehensive health/dental benefits after 90 days.

Work-Life Balance: A flexible hybrid work schedule (4 days in-office / 1 day WFH) with reasonable hours and a supportive team culture.

-High-Growth Environment: Be part of a fast-moving, entrepreneurial firm where your contributions are recognized and your career can evolve alongside company expansion.

What You Will Do & Learn:

Full-Cycle Accounts Receivable & Invoicing: Take ownership of customer project billings, collections tracking, and customer aging schedules.

Daily Treasury & Reconciliations: Perform vendor reconciliations, credit card reviews, and daily bank reconciliations across multi-entity accounts.

Intercompany & Project Accounting: Learn and execute month-end intercompany reconciliations across 6 entities, alongside percentage-of-completion WIP adjustments and project accruals.

Financial Reporting & Compliance: Assist with month-end financial statement preparation, GST/HST filings, and year-end audit schedules.

Who You Are:

Accounting/Finance degree and a CPA or later-stages, actively pursuing a CPA designation.

3+ years of hands-on full-cycle accounting experience in construction, real estate, manufacturing, or project-based industries.

An ambitious, high-grit junior/intermediate accountant eager to step up, learn complex project accounting, and take ownership of daily operations under CFO mentorship.

Experience with or strong aptitude to learn QuickBooks (QBO/QBD) or SAP B1, supported by solid Excel skills.

Positive, high-grit, curious, and excited to roll up your sleeves in a dynamic, growing business.

If you are hungry to learn, build your accounting career, and work with a supportive leadership team, apply today to start the conversation!
