Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) serves as a key financial co-pilot across revenue performance, media obligations, and client profitability. Sitting at the intersection of finance, data analytics, and agency operations, this role ensures precision in monthly reporting while driving forecasting efficiency, margin analysis, and system optimization. The ideal candidate blends strong technical financial acumen with the ability to bridge complex requirements across multiple agencies and specialized service units (SBUs).

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Revenue Management & Business Intelligence

  • Lead month-end close procedures for revenue, media inventory utilization, and cost allocations; draft and post complex journal entries in alignment with ASC 606 / revenue recognition standards.
  • Own the execution of Omnicom Media Group (OMG) budgeting, planning, and quarterly re-forecasting cycles; input and consolidate submissions using Hyperion.
  • Conduct detailed variance analyses (Actuals vs. Budget/Forecast) and synthesize key findings into concise monthly management presentations.
  • Maintain and enhance revenue/cost reporting modules in Cognos/TM1; build, scale, and maintain Power BI / Tableau dashboards to optimize financial visibility across agencies and SBUs.
  • Function as the primary finance liaison for internal and external audit engagements, maintaining robust internal controls.

Systems Architecture & Data Integration

  • Collaborate with IT and Operations to refine database structures and transaction workflows in MediaOcean (DDS) and Microsoft Dynamics AX, ensuring proper mapping of revenues and expenses.
  • Master OMG’s financial database architecture to trace client, agency, and service-level transactions from source system through consolidated reporting.

Media Investment, Vendor Obligations & Client Profitability

  • Partner with Media Buying and Legal teams to model, evaluate, and advise on commercial terms for high-value media vendor negotiations.
  • Monitor and enforce media vendor contractual obligations in compliance with contract terms and GAAP/IFRS; prepare associated vendor balance reconciliations, resolve variances, and book necessary adjustments.
  • Oversee contract compliance for key clients, coordinating client-led audits and ensuring transparency across media commitments.
  • Facilitate regular financial updates and strategic reviews with agency leads, investment directors, and executive leadership.

Key Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related quantitative field (CPA/CFA or progress toward certification is a plus).
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in corporate FP&A, revenue accounting, or agency commercial finance (advertising, media, or professional services preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Cognos / TM1 and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or Enterprise Planning.
  • Familiarity with MediaOcean (DDS) and Microsoft Dynamics AX (or equivalent ERP systems) strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (financial modeling, complex formulas, data structuring) paired with exposure to BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or data analytics software).
  • High financial acumen with deep understanding of revenue recognition, media trading models, and agency billing dynamics.
  • Strong narrative-building and executive presentation capabilities; ability to turn raw data into strategic insights.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills in high-volume environments.
  • Collaborative mindset with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment.
