General Role Info

Job Title: Senior Business Analyst

Team: Program Change and Readiness (Program Development Division)

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will partner directly with senior leadership to evaluate and support the delivery of strategic business and technology initiatives. Operating at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, you will lead end-to-end business analysis, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and mentor junior business analysts to ensure business objectives align seamlessly with technical solutions.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Decision Support: Partner with senior leadership to plan, evaluate, and deliver strategic initiatives. Prepare concise business value assessments, decision requests, information notes, and delivery plans to support executive and governance approval.
End-to-End Business Analysis: Lead requirements planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, validation, and management. Translate complex business needs into clear, well-defined business and system specifications.
Stakeholder Facilitation & Engagement: Plan and lead engagement sessions, workshops, walkthroughs, and demonstrations with cross-functional business and IT teams to validate requirements and support solution delivery.
Solution Design & Technical Collaboration: Partner with technical teams on high-level solution designs, data and reporting analytics, test scenario creation, and production support activities (issue triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution).
Mentorship & Practice Improvement: Provide leadership, guidance, and peer reviews for Business Analysts across concurrent projects; coach and train team members to continuously improve organizational BA practices.

Must Haves

Subject Matter Expertise: Proven expertise in Guidewire (specifically PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter).
Education & Experience: Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (or equivalent practical experience) demonstrating strong core business analysis and IT specification capabilities.
Core Competencies: Strong initiative, efficiency, project management capabilities, and exceptional teamwork skills.

Nice to Haves

Certifications: CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis) or CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional).
Methodologies: Experience working within a Scaled Agile framework (SAFe).
Domain Knowledge: Background in insurance, finance, or government programs/public sector operations.

Other Important Info

Salary Range: $80,000 – $97,000 annually
Work Model: Full-Time, 5 Days Onsite (Guelph, ON)
