Role: Software Engineer (Contract)
Location: Remote or On-Site (Vancouver Tech Office)
About the Role:
We are seeking a Software Engineer to help build and maintain our finance integration platform. You will work in an established Kotlin codebase connecting retail, order-management, and finance systems with third-party services - ensuring global invoice flows remain accurate, traceable, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain inbound/outbound invoice integrations and data mappings in Kotlin.
- Implement resilient error handling and interfaces for APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka).
- Support AWS cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Tax, Security) to deliver auditable solutions.
- Leverage AI developer tools (GitHub Copilot/Codex) responsibly to accelerate delivery and documentation.
Qualifications:
- 8–10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong production experience in Kotlin; proficiency using AWS and Terraform.
- Proven background in distributed systems, REST APIs, event streaming, and data validation.
- Strong commitment to automated testing, code quality, and data security.
- Nice to have: Kafka, ERP/OMS integrations, tax reporting, or electronic invoicing.
