Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1.0 – PR and Comms

PR Activation: Build and execute an annual PR strategy - pitching Canadian foodservice and hospitality trade media, writing press releases, coordinating interview opportunities, and positioning RATIONAL as a category expert and thought leader.
Strategic Communications: Write and edit marketing collateral, email communications, and external announcements; develop and maintain the annual editorial calendar, aligning PR and advertising with campaign priorities and ensuring copy is consistently on-brand, concise, and compelling.
Media Partner Relations: Manage relationships with strategic media partners and industry publications; develop annual tactical plans by partner, oversee media budgets, coordinate ad deliverables (print, digital, sponsored content), and report on results monthly.

2.0 – Digital & Social Media Management

Social Strategy & Engagement: Own RATIONAL Canada's social media presence; develop and execute a content calendar, monitor and respond to engagement within agreed time frame, and deliver pre- and post-event promotion across email and social platforms to drive campaign registrations.
Lead Quality & Funnel Governance: Monitor digital lead quality and maintain a structured feedback loop with the global digital team to ensure incoming leads meet qualification standards before entering the sales funnel.
Performance Optimization: Track and report on digital and communications performance monthly; make data-driven recommendations to improve CTA completion rates, engagement, and conversion across all channels.
Owned Channels: Manage RATIONAL Canada's website and digital tools; keep content current, ensure accessibility compliance and SEO best practices, and coordinate with the global web team on updates and new initiatives.

3.0 – Content Management

Video Platform: Manage publication and promotion of RATIONAL’s video content in the Canadian market; localize and distribute video assets, drive registrations to the gated platform, and track leads attributed to content.
Ambassador & Influencer Program: Recruit, onboard, and manage a roster of culinary ambassadors; coordinate content deliverables, ensure brand alignment, and measure reach and impact.
Competitor Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity across media, social, and digital channels; synthesize findings into actionable insights that inform positioning, messaging, and campaign priorities.

4.0 - Other Duties

Partner with the Central Marketing team in Germany to localize global content for the Canadian market, adopt and adapt best practices, and continuously optimize campaign and channel performance.
Work with creative design team to have an up-do-date collection of campaign and house ads that highlight our products, their features, and customer benefits, with an eye for design.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Experience working with Influencers and/or Brand Ambassadors
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Marketing, business, communications, or related field;
One to three years of relevant marketing experience
Experience writing and editing marketing collateral

Language Skills

Ability to effectively present information, conduct conference calls, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.
Excellent writing skills
Ability to speak, write, or read French (preferred)

Mathematical Skills

Analytical skills
Comfortable interpreting data from multiple sources and drawing actionable conclusions
Understanding of marketing attribution models and how to measure ROI across channels
Comfortable working with budgets, tracking spend, forecasting, and reconciling actuals vs. planned

REASONING ABILITY And WORK BEHAVIOR

Comfortable interpreting data from multiple sources and drawing actionable conclusions

Self-Motivated Professional

Other Qualifications

Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce is a plus
Familiarity with marketing automation tools (experience with enterprise-level CRM or marketing cloud solutions is an asset)
Experience with social media analytics and paid media reporting dashboards (Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Ads)
