Ray Management Group (RMG)

Location: Greater Toronto Area / Hybrid - Remote

Compensation: $105,000 base + uncapped performance compensation

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director, Growth & Strategic Partnerships to lead new business development and help build a repeatable growth engine for RMG.

This is not a traditional corporate business-development role.

You will be responsible for identifying emerging and high-potential brands, developing relationships with founders and senior executives, creating strategic partnerships and converting opportunities into long-term RMG clients.

You will have significant autonomy to shape how RMG approaches growth, which markets and brands we pursue, and how our commercial pipeline is built.

The right person will combine commercial instinct, relationship-building ability and entrepreneurial energy.

You should be equally comfortable opening a conversation with the founder of a fast-growing U.S. beauty brand, building a strategic partnership with an investor or industry partner, and developing a compelling commercial proposal to bring a brand into Canada.

Ultimately, your mandate is simple:

Build the next phase of RMG’s growth.

What You Will OwnNew Business Development

Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of beauty, wellness, personal care and lifestyle brands with strong Canadian market potential. RMG is other categories for consideration, especially if an existing networks exists.

Identify and pursue U.S. and international brands considering Canadian market entry or expansion.

Develop relationships with founders, CEOs, commercial leaders and investors.

Lead outreach, discovery conversations, proposals, presentations, negotiations and closing.

Create a disciplined sales funnel from:

Prospect → Qualify → Engage → Pitch → Proposal → Close

Strategic Partnerships

Build a network of organizations and individuals who can introduce high-potential brands to RMG.

Develop relationships with:

· Private equity and venture capital firms

· Beauty and wellness investors

· Brand incubators and accelerators

· Industry associations

· Retail partners

· Manufacturers

· Logistics and supply-chain partners

· Regulatory specialists

· Consultants and professional-services partners

Position RMG as a natural first call for brands considering entry into the Canadian market.

Market Intelligence

Stay close to emerging consumer brands, categories and retail trends.

Identify brands gaining meaningful traction in the U.S. or international markets before they establish significant Canadian distribution.

Monitor investment activity, acquisitions, emerging founders, category disruption and retail white space.

Translate market intelligence into actionable opportunities for RMG.

Commercial Strategy

Work directly with the Founder to refine RMG’s growth strategy and commercial proposition.

Help package RMG’s capabilities into clear, compelling solutions such as:

Canada Market Entry

Canadian Retail Accelerator

Fractional Canadian Commercial Team

Canadian Market Opportunity Assessment

Develop proposals, commercial models and partnership structures that make it easier for brands to engage RMG.

Existing Client Growth

Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with existing RMG clients.

Partner with the Senior Account Manager and Founder to identify opportunities for:

· Expanded retailer distribution

· New service offerings

· Additional brand support

· Increased strategic engagement

The focus should always be incremental value creation, not traditional account management.

Pipeline Management

Build and maintain a disciplined CRM and new-business pipeline.

Track:

· Qualified opportunities

· Pipeline value

· Sales cycle

· Proposal conversion

· New client revenue

· Referral sources

· Existing-client expansion

· Revenue forecast

Provide clear visibility into where RMG’s future growth is coming from.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will have:

· Built a highly targeted pipeline of high-potential brands

· Established meaningful relationships with founders, investors and industry partners

· Created a repeatable RMG business-development process

· Developed a strong ecosystem of referral partners

· Converted multiple high-quality brands into RMG clients

· Reduced RMG’s reliance on founder-generated opportunities

· Created a clear and predictable new-business revenue pipeline

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is commercially sharp, highly curious and naturally entrepreneurial.

You likely have 8+ years of experience across some combination of:

Experience within beauty and wellness is strongly preferred.

You understand how brands grow and how Canadian retail works.

You are comfortable operating without a large corporate infrastructure and enjoy creating systems, processes and opportunities from the ground up.

Compensation

RMG offers a compensation structure designed to reward growth.

Base salary: approximately $105,000

Performance compensation: uncapped

Target total compensation: approximately $150,000+

Exceptional performance should result in exceptional compensation.

Variable compensation will be primarily tied to incremental new RMG revenue generated and collected, with additional incentives for meaningful expansion of existing accounts.

RMG also offers health benefits, vacation and participation in the company’s RRSP matching program.
