What is the opportunity?
The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Little Italy Ottawa is seeking an Investment Associate to provide dedicated support in investment & money management activities for a high performing Advisory team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive trader to join our Money Management team at Menard Kinkaid Private Wealth of RBC Dominion Securities. As an Investment Associate, you will play a critical role in executing investment trades, managing portfolio rebalancing, and ensuring optimal investment timing for our high-net-worth client base. You will work collaboratively with Relationship Managers, Financial Planners, and Operations Associates to deliver exceptional administrative portfolio management services.

What will you do?
- Execute trades with precision, prioritizing "Timely" requests for same-day processing and routing standard requests to main trading days (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
- Handle book-wide trades strategically, reserving urgent activity for priority accounts
- Manage new client transitions by coordinating with Relationship Managers and Associates
- Manage portfolio accounts across daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles to maintain optimal performance and client alignment.
- Execute routine portfolio activities including account monitoring, rebalancing, fund raising, and investment execution in accordance with established client models and timelines
- Conduct regular compliance reviews, generate required reporting and analysis, and maintain accurate account records.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams by providing timely trade confirmations, account updates, and compliance information, while actively participating in team meetings and feedback sessions to ensure seamless operations and client service delivery.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Completed Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam or equivalent (candidates without current credentials must be willing and able to obtain them within the first 12 months of employment)
- Investment knowledge and strong understanding of asset classes, portfolio models, and investment vehicles (GICs, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, TFSAs, RRSPs, RRIFs)
- Proficiency with data analysis and strong ability to review reports, identify discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy
- Meticulous attention to detail, excellent time management skills and comfortable with fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Proactive, self-motivated and client-focused
Nice-to-have
- 1–3 years of experience in trading, portfolio operations, or wealth management
- Proficiency working with AI
- Familiarity with Canadian investment vehicles and tax-advantaged accounts (TFSA, RRSP, RRIF)
- Basic understanding of portfolio rebalancing methodologies
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in investment management

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$37,500.00 - $50,000.00
This position includes competitive-based pay, and the overall earning potential is impacted by a variable incentive structure, earning a multiple of salary up to:
1.0x
