Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Jira Service Management Automation Developer to design and build scalable intake platforms that improve how teams submit, prioritize, route, and track work across the enterprise.
The role combines Jira Service Management configuration and automation, Java/Python development, REST API integrations, and AI/GenAI to improve workflow efficiency and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure Jira Service Management portals, forms, request types, workflows, approvals, queues, SLAs, and permissions.
- Develop automation for task creation, routing, prioritization, assignments, notifications, escalations, and status transitions.
- Build Java/Spring Boot services and Python utilities for automation and enterprise integrations.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and event-driven integrations.
- Integrate Jira with Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Teams, GitHub, Azure DevOps, email, and identity platforms.
- Apply AI/GenAI, NLP, and intelligent automation to request classification, data extraction, prioritization, duplicate detection, and routing.
- Develop dashboards and reports for intake volume, SLA performance, throughput, aging, and automation effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, audit records, and monitoring tools.
- Establish testing, deployment, rollback, security, access control, monitoring, and governance practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, QA, operations, and business teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Document technical designs, workflows, business rules, and AI behavior.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in Jira Service Management administration, development, or automation.
- Strong experience with Jira Service Management configuration and workflow automation.
- Java/Spring Boot and/or Python development experience.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, HTTP, and OAuth 2.0.
- Experience with AI/GenAI, NLP, or intelligent automation.
- SQL and production-system troubleshooting/observability experience.
- Experience with Atlassian Forge, ScriptRunner, Assets, Advanced Roadmaps, or Marketplace applications.
- Knowledge of enterprise integrations and Agile methodologies.
Nice to Have
- LangChain, Amazon Bedrock, RAG, embeddings, vector search, or AI evaluation.
- AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as Code / Configuration as Code.
- CI/CD pipelines.
- Responsible AI and security practices.
