Company Description

Recapture Capital Inc. (RECAP2) is a Canadian specialty insurance company transforming the automotive F&I industry through innovative insurance solutions. Our flagship Return of Capital Insurance program helps consumers protect the equity they build in their vehicles while creating new revenue opportunities for dealerships and automotive finance partners. We are expanding our team to support our next stage of growth.

Role Overview

The Claims & Care Specialist is a licensed, client- and partner-facing role responsible for supporting policy servicing, coverage inquiries, and claims processing. Reporting to the VP of Claims & Care, this role sits at the intersection of claims operations, policy servicing, and client partner support.

As part of a high-growth start-up, this position plays a critical role in shaping the day-to-day service experience while helping build scalable, compliant processes from the ground up. This role is ideal for an insurance professional who enjoys variety, ownership, and meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Client Partner Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external partners, handling coverage questions, policy inquiries, and issue resolution via phone and email
  • Provide clear, accurate explanations of policy terms, coverage, and servicing processes
  • Support troubleshooting and escalations in collaboration with internal teams
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships through consistent, solution-oriented communication

Policy Services & Ongoing Support

  • Support policyholders following policy issuance, including policy maintenance and general servicing inquiries
  • Assist clients in understanding coverage, policy changes, and required documentation
  • Ensure all servicing activities meet regulatory requirements and internal service standards
  • Accurately document all interactions and actions in internal systems

Claims Operations

  • Manage claims intake, documentation review, and processing in accordance with policy terms and internal procedures
  • Communicate claim requirements, status updates, and outcomes clearly and professionally
  • Identify potential coverage issues or risks and escalate appropriately
  • Support timely claim resolution while maintaining quality, compliance, and customer experience expectations

Why This Role Matters

This is an opportunity to join a high-growth start-up at a formative stage and play a meaningful role in shaping how claims and policy servicing are delivered as the company scales. Rather than stepping into a rigid, fully established operation, you’ll help influence workflows, service standards, and tools that will support long-term growth.

Your work will directly impact partner and policyholder experience during critical moments, while also contributing to building scalable, compliant processes that can grow with the business. For someone who enjoys ownership, visibility, and the chance to leave a real imprint on how a function evolves, this role offers far more than day-to-day execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Active Level 1 or higher General Insurance Agent license (required)
  • Experience in insurance servicing, claims handling, or licensed client support
  • Solid understanding of insurance coverage, policy administration, and claims processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word) and comfort working across multiple systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while managing competing priorities

Key Competencies

  • Comfortable handling a high volume of inbound and outbound phone calls and emails
  • Highly adept at navigating systems, learning new platforms, and maintaining accurate records
  • Able to balance responsiveness with accuracy, compliance, and documentation standards
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a calm, professional approach
  • Adaptable and comfortable operating in a changing, early-stage environment
  • Comfort working with evolving processes and a willingness to help improve and scale them

Working Environment

  • Role is primarily in-office and based in Calgary
  • Flexibility for closing shifts and weekend coverage to be worked remotely
  • Fast-paced, collaborative team environment where hands-on learning and real-time problem solving are valued
  • Ongoing adherence to licensing and regulatory requirements is essential

Compensation & Benefits

Proposed Salary Band (Calgary / Alberta):

  • $60,000–$75,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience
  • Shift differential available for certain hours and weekend coverage

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive benefits package available following a successful 90-day probationary period
  • Additional components may include performance-based incentives and career growth opportunities as the company scales
  • Opportunity to grow alongside the business and take on increased responsibility over time
