Experienced Estimator – Commercial & Residential Construction
Location: Carleton Place, Ontario
Job Type: Full time | In-Office

About ReConstruct Pro
ReConstruct Pro is a leading construction and renovation company serving Ottawa and the surrounding area. We specialize in both commercial and residential projects and are looking for an experienced Estimator who can take ownership of estimates from takeoff to final bid.
Role Summary
The Experienced Estimator will independently prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for commercial and residential projects. This role calls for a proven estimating track record, strong blueprint and specification reading, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members. The position is in-office only.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complete, detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for residential and commercial projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and project specifications
- Solicit and compare subcontractor and supplier quotes, and finalize bid pricing
- Build and manage estimates using Excel and Microsoft Office
- Use estimating software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid
- Analyze past project costs to improve estimate accuracy and profit margins
- Collaborate with project managers, purchasing, clients and subcontractors
- Manage multiple bids at once and meet tender deadlines
- Support and guide junior estimators
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating and pricing
- Proven ability to produce full project estimates independently
- Expert blueprint and specification reading
- Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office skills
- Hands-on experience with Bluebeam and/or HeavyBid
- AutoCAD experience is a strong asset
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in-office and in a team environment
- Valid driver's licence

Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for commercial and residential construction projects, interpret project drawings and specifications, and obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes to finalize bids. Manage multiple bids and deadlines, analyze historical project costs, collaborate with project stakeholders, and support junior estimators.
Requirements
Requires at least three years of construction estimating and pricing experience, including the ability to independently produce full project estimates and expert blueprint and specification reading. Candidates need advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills, experience with Bluebeam and/or HeavyBid, strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, and a valid driver's licence; AutoCAD experience is an asset.
