Our client, a well-established manufacturing and distribution organization located in Mississauga, is seeking a Finance Manager to work directly with the CFO and oversee a broad range of accounting and finance activities.
This is a hands-on, standalone individual contributor role for a finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, working independently, and contributing to business decisions beyond traditional accounting. With no direct reports, this position offers the opportunity to serve as a key business partner to the CFO while supporting financial operations, business performance, and ongoing organizational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and account reconciliations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to the CFO.
- Support cash flow management, working capital analysis, and financial decision-making.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
- Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements with external advisors.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and support business performance.
- Participate in process improvements, system implementations, and special projects.
- Take on evolving responsibilities and support the CFO across a variety of financial and business initiatives.
Qualifications
- CPA designation is required.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Experience in a similar industry, preferably manufacturing and distribution, is strongly preferred.
- Strong background in financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Broad accounting and finance knowledge, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently in a hands-on, standalone role.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working within a large or complex organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and confident working directly with senior leadership.
