Our client, a Toronto-based globally recognized luxury interior design studio specializing in high-end hospitality, residential, restaurant, and mixed-use environments, is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer with a strong background in hospitality and/or multi-residential design to join their growing team. This is a permanent, full-time, in studio position, offering a base salary of $80-$100k, or more, depending on experience, plus a competitive vacation and benefits package.
Known for creating immersive, story-driven spaces, the practice blends design, craftsmanship, and brand experience across architecture, landscape, interior, and product design.
In this role, the Senior Interior Designer will collaborate closely with design leadership, clients, and project teams to translate creative vision into exceptional built environments. The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects simultaneously, provide mentorship to intermediate and junior designers, and play a key role in driving both design excellence and successful project execution. - Qualifications:Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience delivering hospitality, mixed-use, and/or multi-residential interior design projects.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and deadlines within a dynamic project environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with experience collaborating with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities, including scheduling, resource coordination, and workload planning.
- Creative and solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to project challenges.
- Ability to effectively communicate design intent through sketches, renderings, presentations, and 3D visualization tools.
- Working knowledge of relevant building codes, accessibility standards, and industry regulations applicable to interior design projects.
- Experience developing FF&E packages and coordinating with procurement and specification teams.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software and documentation platforms.
- Strong proficiency with industry-standard design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Responsibilities:Lead the design development process, creating thoughtful and innovative design solutions that support project goals and overall design direction.
- Contribute to the evolution of studio standards, workflows, and best practices to enhance project delivery and team efficiency.
- Direct multiple hospitality and residential projects simultaneously, overseeing all phases from concept development through construction and installation.
- Coordinate project resources, assist with workload planning, and support the effective utilization of design team members.
- Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to intermediate and junior designers, supporting professional growth and technical development.
- Foster strong client partnerships through effective communication, presentations, and proactive management of project expectations.
- Collaborate with clients and project stakeholders during programming, planning, and feasibility stages to establish clear project objectives.
- Review project scope, contractual requirements, and deliverables to help ensure projects are executed efficiently and in accordance with agreed-upon objectives.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and team workloads to support successful project execution and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain design intent and facilitate smooth project progression.
