Our client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to provide financial leadership and help guide the organization's long-term direction. Working closely with the CEO and executive team, the CFO will oversee financial operations, planning, regulatory requirements, and key external relationships while providing clear financial insight to support organizational priorities. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance leader with strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Provide financial leadership and recommendations to the CEO, executive team, and Board
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial statements, and month-end and year-end activities
- Manage core finance functions, including accounts payable, payroll, investments, pension, and benefits administration
- Ensure accurate and timely government, tax, regulatory, and financial reporting
- Maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks, creditors, government agencies, and other external partners
- Guide financial planning and support effective management of organizational assets and resources
- Support strategic initiatives involving grants, forgivable loans, mortgages, and other funding opportunities
- Maintain appropriate financial controls, policies, procedures, and privacy practices
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff while promoting accountability and professional growth
Your strengths include:
- CPA designation
- Senior-level experience overseeing finance and accounting operations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASNPO, and applicable financial reporting requirements
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning
- Ability to communicate financial results and recommendations effectively to executive and Board-level stakeholders
- Experience working with auditors, financial institutions, government agencies, and funding partners
- Proven leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities
- Experience with grants, financing, pension, or benefits administration considered an asset
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to complete a criminal record check
