Our client is seeking a Director of Operations to lead field operations across Canada, with responsibility for team performance, asset readiness, service delivery, and operational efficiency. This hands-on leadership role works closely with logistics, engineering, finance, and commercial teams to align resources with customer needs and ensure safe, reliable field execution. The ideal candidate will bring strong field operations experience, proven leadership skills, and a practical approach to continuous improvement.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Lead field operations teams across Canadian locations to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient service
- Oversee asset utilization, deployment, and equipment readiness in line with customer demand
- Coordinate scheduling, dispatch, and resource allocation across field operations
- Ensure preventative maintenance and repair programs are completed effectively and on schedule
- Monitor operational costs, service performance, and productivity while identifying opportunities for improvement
- Champion safety programs and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements
- Build and develop field teams through coaching, training, and clear performance expectations
- Partner with internal teams to align equipment availability, mobilization, and customer service requirements
- Maintain accurate work orders, field documentation, and operational reporting
- Provide hands-on field support when required to maintain service continuity
Your strengths include:
- 5+ years of progressive field operations experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Experience managing field service teams, equipment, and safety programs
- Background in oil and gas, power generation, industrial equipment, or a related industry considered an asset
- Strong operational planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience with asset tracking, fleet management, or maintenance programs considered an asset
- Strong understanding of Canadian safety and regulatory requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Ability to work in field and site environments and travel approximately 25-30% as required
