Senior Accountant Contractor (6-months)

Our Calgary-based technology client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant Contractor to support its growing finance team during a significant acquisition and integration initiative. This role will be responsible for managing core accounting functions across a multi-entity organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient month-end close processes, and strong operational support while finance leadership focuses on strategic acquisition activities. The successful candidate will work closely with accounting and finance stakeholders across North America and international operations, helping maintain continuity and financial integrity during a period of growth and transformation.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Own and execute month--end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and financial analysis
• Prepare and reconcile expense-related balance sheet accounts, accrued liabilities, payroll accounts, and intercompany balances
• Manage intercompany transactions, funding transfers, and treasury-related activities across multiple entities
• Review and approve vendor payments while ensuring transactions are accurately recorded within company systems
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and international accounting teams to support daily accounting operations
• Coordinate accounting requirements for international subsidiaries and support monthly financial reporting activities
  
  

Your strengths include:

• CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program is preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close responsibilities
• Strong experience with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis
• Experience working within a large ERP environment; NetSuite experience is considered a strong asset
• Understanding of treasury processes, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity accounting structures
• Prior experience in SaaS, software, technology, or professional services environments is preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and solutions-focused
