Director, Global Real Estate Operations

Join a dynamic global environment where you will collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders across multiple regions, support key operational initiatives, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, governance, and business performance.

What is in it for you:

Salaried: $53-63 per hour.

Incorporated Business Rate: $63-73 per hour.

12-month contract with the possibility of extension up to 18 months.

Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.

Hybrid: 3 days per week in the Toronto office.

Responsibilities:

Operational Policies and Procedures

Develop, own, and lead the implementation of operational policies and procedures.

Act as the owner and subject matter expert for leasing policies, procurement policies, playbooks, and templates.

Maintain an inventory of business unit policies, procedures, and templates, and monitor review and refresh timelines.

Lead third-party manager oversight programs, including tenant engagement surveys and property management and leasing broker scorecards.

Develop and lead onboarding and offboarding processes for investments.

Develop and lead onboarding processes for new ventures and funds, including operational playbooks and accountability alignment across business functions.

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and support change initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management

Manage business unit compliance and risk management programs.

Lead responses to internal audits on behalf of the business unit.

Coordinate and oversee external audit processes as required.

Administer anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing programs in accordance with applicable policies, regulations, and industry practices.

Organize compliance reporting programs, including anti-money laundering, privacy assessments, and fraud risk assessments.

Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of compliance programs.

Contract Management and Procurement

Lead the coordination of business unit-managed contracting processes and contract management activities.

Ensure adherence to procurement policies and third-party risk management standards.

Train users on procurement standards and act as a subject matter expert.

Manage selected third-party vendor relationships and related contracts.

Develop business cases and obtain consensus for new contract types.

Collect, organize, maintain, and ensure accessibility of business unit-managed contracts.

Maintain a centralized contract database containing contract terms, renewal dates, and pricing information.

Track contract renewal and expiry dates and coordinate timely renewals or rate renegotiations.

Review, validate, and process vendor and supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals.

Business Continuity Planning

Own and manage the business continuity plan.

Work with stakeholders to identify critical business processes, assess risks, and develop disruption mitigation strategies.

Ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities during business disruptions and are prepared to implement the business continuity plan effectively.

What you will need to succeed:

Required Qualifications

10+ years of professional experience.

5+ years of experience within the investment management industry.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Experience with real estate accounting systems.

Strong knowledge of real estate investment, asset management, accounting, and administration concepts.

Strong analytical skills, including quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Strong risk assessment skills.

Ability to compile, monitor, review, and audit financial, performance, and data reports for accuracy, integrity, and conformance to performance benchmarks.

Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or real estate management.

Experience with Yardi, VTS, and Anaplan.

Experience working with real estate funds.

Soft Skills

Ability to work independently and prioritize deadlines.

Ability to build and manage effective relationships with stakeholders across various groups and locations to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
