Program Manager - Data Governance Technology

What is in it for you:
- Salaried: $90-95 per hour.
- Incorporated Business Rate: $109-114 per hour.
- 12-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
- Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
- Hybrid: 3 days/week in Toronto office.
Responsibilities:
Product strategy & Roadmap management
- Define and execute vision, roadmap, priorities, and success measures for Data Governance capabilities.
- Own backlog, feature prioritization, release planning, and delivery sequencing.
- Partner with business and engineering teams to translate requirements into actionable epics, features, and user stories.
- Evaluate new opportunities, business needs, and regulatory requirements to inform product direction.
Program & Agile delivery leadership
- Lead end-to-end delivery of data governance initiatives, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies are managed effectively.
- Coordinate agile ceremonies and support execution across multiple workstreams and delivery teams.
- Track progress, manage issues and escalations, and provide leadership reporting.
- Coordinate vendor and partner deliverables where applicable.
Data governance & Operating model leadership
- Drive implementation of data governance processes, controls, standards, and operating models.
- Partner with governance stakeholders to establish roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability.
- Support governance initiatives related to metadata management, data quality, lineage, data access, data products, and data marketplace capabilities.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory, risk, compliance, privacy, and audit expectations.
Stakeholder engagement & Organizational change management
- Build strong relationships across business, technology, risk, compliance, and executive stakeholder groups.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, communications, and change management activities to support adoption.
- Develop executive presentations, business cases, status updates, and leadership materials.
- Facilitate alignment and drive decision-making across complex stakeholder groups.
Adoption, Training & Enablement
- Lead onboarding and enablement for new team members and stakeholders.
- Develop training materials, guidance, communications, and user adoption plans.
- Support organizational readiness activities for new capabilities and processes.
- Promote adoption and continuous improvement of governance products and practices.
Measurement & Value realization
- Define KPIs, success measures, and reporting mechanisms for governance products and initiatives.
- Monitor adoption, outcomes, risks, and business value realization.
- Identify opportunities for optimization, process improvement, and increased business impact.
- Support budget planning, forecasting, and benefit tracking activities.
What you will need to succeed:
Experience
- Strong experience in Data, Analytics, Governance, Risk, or Technology platforms.
- Experience leading agile delivery teams and managing enterprise technology implementations.
- Experience developing business cases, roadmaps, and operating models.
Technical & Professional skills
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including metadata, data quality, lineage, data access, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
